The Gilroy High girls golf team lost 151-241 to visiting Robert Louis Stevenson on Thursday in a meet at Gilroy Golf Course.

“We played a very good RLS team today,” said Gilroy coach Eric Kuwada. “They are the leading the TCAL, and it was evident the talent they have this year.”

The Mustangs were able to learn from RLS, Kuwada said.

“The girls learned a lot of about what kind of talent the girls have,” he said. “The GHS girls were in awe of the talent of the RLS girls. These girls have been playing for years, and most of GHS girls started last month. We have come a long way. Today’s score was the lowest of the season so far.”

Gilroy plays on a difficult CordeValle course Monday and then competes in the league finals at Salinas Country Club on Oct. 22.
