Dear Editor,
I would like to thank the community for electing me to serve as a trustee on the Gilroy Unified School District Board of Education. I do not take the title “trustee” lightly and I am fully committed to serving this community.
Over the course of the campaign, I earned a new respect for the challenge of seeking public office. The time demands are great, and I commend all of the candidates who ran for this position. I am committed to this community and to improving our schools for the teachers, employees, students and parents. I am counting on input from the whole community as I work towards the goal of academic excellence.
I want to thank my many supporters who helped make this a smooth campaign. To be elected in Gilroy, you need to be in touch with the community and speak from your heart. I am not a politician. I am just a parent who wants the best for the children in Gilroy.
Finally, I want to express my love and gratitude to my family for their unwavering support over the last two months. Without them, I would not have been able to seek this office.
