Gilroy’s new summer water polo program

A new high school-level water polo program has sprouted in Gilroy, allowing newcomers and veterans of the trade to dip their feet into the sport this summer.

Mary Dolores Sanches, 89, born in San Jose and a Gilroy resident for 80 years, passed away June 9, 2012. She is survived by her nieces Yvonne and Deborah Sanches and many cousins. Daughter of Mary and Antone Sanches (deceased) and sister of David Sanches (deceased).

Updated: Possible fatality in wreck on 25; several victims airlifted

Emergency responders were attempting to resuscitate the male driver of a car in an accident Wednesday morning on Highway 25 as they placed him in an ambulance, while several subjects from a sport utility vehicle in the wreck were airlifted to a regional hospital.
