Community Camera: Cooking up Some Fun

Girl Scout Troop 3473 attended a cooking demonstration with Dorothy McNett at Ridgemark Golf and Country Club as an effort to receive the creative cooking badge. McNett showed the troop how to grill halloumi cheese, which she served with quince preserves. She also made a vegetarian stir fry and talked to the girls about the importance off eating fresh and healthy. The girls are, from left to right, Natasha Guaracha, June Branon, Mary Medeiros, Miranda Weatherly, Taylor Cline, Clare Genesy, Amariah Juarez, Samantha Walker and Ashley Hicks.

Farmer’s Market Fun

Charlene Hannibal, who is holding sunflowers, was the winner of a Farmer's Market Basket on Aug. 31. Standing with Hannibal is Diane Thorson, who is the manager of the market. The Farmer's Market is held at the corner of Fourth and San Benito streets in Hollister on Wednesdays.
