GILROY—More than 1,000 people gathered at a somber candlelight vigil Monday at Gilroy’s Christopher High School to remember Natalia Salcido, the cheerleader killed in a car accident on Mother’s Day eve, a week before her 16th birthday.

GILROY—A Gilroy man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence Tuesday night after his Mustang plunged into a ditch off Leavesley Road, killing three Gilroy high school girls and a young man and seriously injuring himself, authorities reported.

Remembering Natalia Salcido
Christopher High School held a candlelight vigil in honor of 15-year-old Natalia Salcido, who was killed in a car accident May 9. Salcido was a sophomore at the school and a member of the cheer and dance team. More than 1,000 people attended the vigil to honor and remember Salcido's life on Monday evening.
