GILROY—As trash piles up in a Gilroy slough, citizens have stepped up to clean the channel that has city and water officials pointing fingers of responsibility while neither takes action.

GILROY—A Roman Catholic health system has sued opponents who fought the sale of its Gilroy hospital and others, alleging a union and private firm conspired to undermine the $843 million deal.

GILROY— In Gilroy’s first murder of 2015, police have charged a San Jose woman, 19, with the Feb. 16 killing of Robert Heiser, 56, in his home and are hunting for a 17-year-old girl they believe was one of as many as three accomplices.

The Gilroy Chamber of Commerce held it’s monthly mixer at Bonfante Collision Center where nearly 70 people gathered to network and help raise money for the Gilroy Compassion Center. More than $700 was raised as a result of the mixer. The Chamber’s monthly mixer partners a host business with a local nonprofit in order to provide awareness and needed revenue for the nonprofit organization. The monthly event creates an environment for networking and helps create a strong local economy.
