Rod Kelley Parent Club embezzler back in court next week
The woman who embezzled more than $50,000 from the Rod Kelley Elementary School parent club more than 10 years ago violated her probation by failing to make monthly payments and must appear Tuesday at the Hall of Justice in San Jose.
Gavilan College student wins PG&E scholarship
A Gavilan College MESA student earned the MESA Undergraduate Scholarship from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Alicia Ornelas-Stevens was one of 12 MESA community college students to win a $1,000 award. Alicia will be transferring to UC Davis in the fall 2013 semester. She is majoring in computer science.

About a dozen bystanders rushed to the aid of a family trapped in a Chevy Blazer last Thursday seconds after their vehicle slid about 30 feet on the passenger side and came to a stop on the westbound lane of 10th Street in front of the former soccer retail store.
NEW: More charges for former trustee
The former Gilroy Unified School District Board of Education trustee who is already facing charges for swindling $52,000 from a leading South County nonprofit organization, as well as billing an engineering firm for meetings that supposedly never occurred is now being accused of misusing thousands of dollars from his 2010 campaign donations.
