Five arrested in “shoulder tap” operation
In the midst of an ongoing undercover operation to nab grownups trying to purchase alcohol for minors, Morgan Hill Police have arrested five adult suspects so far as a result of the “shoulder tap” initiative.
UPDATED: GPD officer faces charges
An allegedly drunk Gilroy Police Department officer barricaded himself in a bedroom and resisted arrest when Merced County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shots-fired call at a residence last month.

Fiery crash on Hecker Pass
A 52-year-old female driver lost control of her car, crashed into an embankment on Hecker Pass Highway near Sprig Lake and immediately exited her 1998 Dodge Stratus that moments later burst into flames.
Hearing for former MHDA director continued
Former Morgan Hill Downtown Association Executive Director Jorge Briones appeared at South County Courthouse Friday for a plea hearing on charges that he embezzled the nonprofit organization’s revenues, but attorneys agreed they needed a few more days to review the case files.

SVMS pool saga sinks for good
