Dear Editor:

I read your article about DSL access with great interest. I had been waiting four years for some sort of fast Internet access, since I live in the northwest Gilroy area. As your article mentioned, there is no DSL or cable-based Internet access here, leaving many of us with dial-up as the only choice. Every so many months I would check with all the vendors with no luck. There are multiplexors in the phone lines in this area and therefore DSL cannot work.

Your article briefly mentioned wireless access, but it never talked about it. Two weeks ago I got wireless Internet access from bandwave.net and I have been a very happy camper since then. Wireless requires a very small antenna to be mounted in your roof, and the connection is always on and blazing fast at DSL speeds or even higher. What impressed me the most was the quality of the service and the professionalism of the company I dealt with. There are not that many companies that treat customers as well as I was treated, so I must recommend bandwave.net

My monthly fee is only about $4 more than what I used to pay for the extra phone line and the Earthlink dial-up account I used to have. For those $4 more now web sites load in a few seconds instead of a minute. The only caveat to wireless is the initial equipment and setup fee, but well worth it.
