Takashi (Tak) Jio

Age 66, born in Heart Mountain, WY, passed away peacefully July 18th,2010. Survived by his loving wife Carol of 41 years, daughter Elizabeth, son Christopher, son-in-law Chris, grandsons Nathaniel and Ryan, mother-in-law Beatrice, sister Ats, brothers Rich, Ken and Mori, sisters-in-law Louise, Donna and Carole, brothers-in-law George, James and Ken and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Matsugoro and Iwano, two brothers and three sisters Miyuki, Fumi and Yuri and father-in-law Fred.

Olga Zaldivar

Olga Zaldivar, loving mother of Tara, Amanda, and Robert, and wonderful and loving grandmother of Ethan, Isaiah, Isabelle, Sofia and Justin, walked with the angels into our Heavenly Father's arms on July 19, 2010, after her long battle with systemic lupus. Olga passed away surrounded by her family, including her parents Francisco and Rosa, her siblings, Aida and Lyle Perez, Frank and Tracey Zaldivar, Irma and Sam Altamirano, Raul and Jennifer Zaldivar, Javier and Alma Zaldivar, and Daniel Zaldivar, and many nieces, nephews, and friends, who despite their own sorrow and grief, stayed with her as she left this earth for a more peaceful and beautiful place where she is no longer in pain. Her requiem mass occurred at St. Mary's Catholic Church on 7/23/10. Donations in her name can be made to the Bay Area Lupus Foundation, www.lfnc.org.

Martha H. Busch

Martha H. Busch was born in 1918, in San Jose, CA. and grew up on her father's dairy farm. She was queen of the Swiss Society of San Jose where she met her future husband on the dance floor. She was married to San Jose dairyman John Busch in 1943 in Reno, NV. As population pressed dairies out of San Jose, Martha and John moved to Hollister to farm. She became active in the community serving as treasurer of the North Co. School District's P. T. A. from 1966 to 1974. She served as secretary of the concert association in the 1970's and 80's. Martha loved entering flowers in the county fair and raising her two children. When her husband died in 1995 she remained on the farm until six years ago when she moved to an assisted living facility in Davis, CA. Martha was loved by all, those who have passed and those who still remember her and her brilliant smile. She leaves behind a son and daughter, John Busch of Hollister, CA. and Bonnie Moore and husband Fritz, of Vacaville, CA as well as her niece/stepdaughter Trudy Johnson of Exeter, CA.

Lillian (Lolly) Amato

Succumbed to cancer on 7/22/2010. Devoted mother to Jamie and Jeff. Sister to Arlene. Grandma to John and Emilie. A memorial service will be held on 7/30/2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Funeral Home: 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose.

Elsa Audisio (Nonna)

Immigrated from Italy in 1953. She was married to Augusto "Gus" Audisio, who was the nephew of J.D. Rocca of San Martin. Devoted mother to Joseph and Carlo; loving grandmother to Thomas and Jason; and great grandmother to Jared, Sophia and Gianna. All who knew her, loved her. Nonna, we all love you and will miss you forever. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine Parish, 17720 Peak Avenue in Morgan Hill, CA.

Kelly Marie Freitas

Kelly Marie Freitas passed away peacefully in her home in Hollister, CA on July 16, 2010, ending her battle with cancer. Kelly was 31 years old and lived life to it's fullest each and every day. She was born in San Jose, CA 1979 and was the youngest of three children of Carlos and Amelia Alvernaz (Silva). Kelly was raised in Hollister from the age of three. She attended Sacred Heart School and San Benito High School, where she played water polo. Kelly attended Chico State University, San Jose State University and the Art Institute of San Francisco where she studied photography. In addition to being a professional photographer specializing in children, she was the marketing manager at Pietra Santa Winery. She was a parishioner of St. Benedicts church and a member of the S.D.E.S. hall. Kelly grew up in a large and close-knit extended family. She loved traveling, camping, waterskiing and dancing.

Audley (Bud) F. Hawkins

Bud passed away peacefully at the age of 86. He was the beloved husband of Jessie Hawkins for 37 years. Loving father of Sharon Rabe, Kevin Metz and Greg Lisle. Dearest grandfather of Danielle, Leigh Ann, Shanti, Ryder, Alicia, Michael and Jessica and great-grandfather of 14. Dear brother of Janet Farahm and the late Lorraine Senaga and uncle of Loretta, Curt and Audrey.
