Mateo "Matt" Tijerina, aged 80 years, passed away at his residence, November 6th with his family by his side. Matt as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, was a native of Sabinal, TX; was educated in Texas, and moved from Texas to Hollister 50 years ago. Matt worked in the wine industry for 25 years with Almaden Vineyards and upon his retirement, started his own landscaping business. He enjoyed being with his wife and family; the out of doors gardening and fishing, as well as watching the 49-ers, Giants, and A's games. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Teamsters local union in Fresno; had been a volunteer fireman for the City Of Hollister for eight years; was very active in the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah's Witnesses, and was devoted to sharing the gospel with others. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Santos Tijerina of Hollister; his children and their spouses Anita Correa of Hollister; Rosalinda Howard (Joe) of Santa Cruz, Gilbert Tijeina (Debbie) of Sacramento, David Tijerina (Lisa) of Morgan Hill, and Velia Dozal of Hollister. 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, his brother Benito Tijerina (Margo), and many nieces and nephews survive.
Born on the family ranch in Morgan Hill on September 27, 1918, Lillian was a life-long resident of Morgan Hill. She passed away on November 3, 2008, at her home at the age of 90.
Marina - Raylene Sanchez, a loving, welcoming presence in the world and a treasure to her family and friends passed away suddenly at her home. Raylene is preceeded in death by her mother Margaret and brother Joshua. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the South Valley Community Church.

Gotterba (Barbara) of Paradise, CA, Douglas S. Gotterba of Westlake Village, CA and Thomas E. Gotterba of Gilroy. Grandmother of Gary Lee, Michelle, Linda and Bobby. Also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A native of Riverdale, CA.
Gloria Weaver peacefully passed away at the Pacific Hills Skilled Nursing home in Morgan Hill on November 1, 2008 after a long, courageous, battle with liver disease. She was surrounded by her family. Gloria was born in Clifton, Arizona, on November 4, 1937. Her parents Jose Diaz Manriquez and Lena Thelma Fierro Manriquez preceded her in death. Gloria moved to the Santa Clara Valley in 1942 with her family. Gloria attended many schools in the Santa Clara Valley graduating from Campbell High School in 1956 and continued her education at local Colleges and business schools.
Manuel A. Chavez went to be with the Lord on November 2, 2008 following a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Daria(Doris)Chavez of 66 years; brother, Rodolfo Rodriguez of Rocklin, CA; sons, Jesus Victor Chavez Sr. (Priscilla) of Utah, Manuel T. Chavez (Christina) of San Juan Bautista, Arthur Chavez (Holly) of Hollister, David P. Chavez (Annemarie) of Michigan; daughters, Nellie Ortega (Bob) of Gilroy, Virginia Ramos (Eduardo) of San Juan Bautista, Becky Chavez of Hollister; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Manuel was preceded in death by his mother, Sixta Amador and sister Felicitas Alvarez.
Evan Jae Park was born at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto at 34 weeks on Monday, October 27th at 6:14 P.M. He weighed 5 lbs. 10 1/2 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. Evan was born with life threatening complications and after a courageous battle, died in our arms later that night. We were expecting a baby, but have a guardian angel instead. We will miss him deeply and will cherish the time we had with him. Evan is survived by his parents Ji and Cindy Park, brothers Ryan and Zachary, sister Ashlyn, grandparents Edward and Donna Deming, grandparents Chil-Sung and Myung Park, aunt and uncle Stacy and Edward Garcia, and his aunt MeeOk Park. The viewing will be on Monday November 3rd at Johnson Funeral Home in Morgan Hill between 9:00 A.M. -10:30 A.M. The funeral will follow at St. Catherine Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M.
