Mildred Zappa passed away September 13, 2008 in Capitola. She was born in Pennsylvania to Italian immigrant parents on September 24, 1923. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Clyde Zappa and their son Lenny; survived by her daughter Claudia and husband Roger Martin of Boulder Creek, son David Zappa of Forestville, son Mark Zappa and wife Sandi of Gilroy, daughter Jeanine and husband Brian Sollom of McKinnleyville, and daughter Carol Zappa of Capitola. She is also survived by her grandchildren Frank Bauer, Lia Holden, Lenny, Molly, and Emmy Zappa, Michelle Moon, Danielle Zappa, and Brian and Jeremy Sollom; and great-grandchildren Bristol and Bryce Holden.
Dorothy "Dottie" Francis (Markovic) Ruffalo, 78, formerly of Kenosha, WI late of Hollister, California, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 14, 2008.
E. (Maggie) Magdalen Freeman, 95, passed away on September 4, 2008 at her daughter's home in Arlington, WA. She was born to Andrew Jackson and Mary Francis Hendricks on August 27, 1913 in Tres Pinos, CA. Maggie graduated from Livingston High School in Livingston, CA in 1935. She enjoyed sewing, painting and gardening. Maggie was known for being a strong, outgoing, and artistic woman. Surviving Maggie are her daughters, Barbara Elsie Hopper of Arlington, WA, Royalee Russllyn Cannon of Kent, WA, Jessie Elizabeth Ann Cravens of Arlington, WA, 14 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-granchildren. Maggie was preceeded in death by her daughter Elva Jane Eckles, her first husband Roy Russell Pierce, fire chief of Santa Clara county for many years and her second husband Cheif Petty Officer Roy George Freeman.
Virgie is survived by her husband John Daniel, son Robert and mother Virgie Nicoletos. Memorial mass will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Our Lady Chapel, 11 First St., Gilroy. Arrangements by Habing Family, Gilroy.
