Crew Softball shook up the Men’s Winter BB League pennant scramble Friday with an 18-17 victory over Johnny’s Bar and Grill at Christmas Hill Park.
Johnny’s dropped to 3-1 while the Crew is 2-2 in fourth place in the seven-team circuit.
Trailing 15-11 after six, Johnny’s struck for seven runs in the seventh inning, keyed by two singles from Mike Segovia. Crew Softball retaliated with five consecutive hits in the bottom of the seventh to pull off the upset. Luis Garcia cracked a lead-off home run, Jon-Michael Becerra and Jose Rodriguez stroked singles and Chris Soto tied the score with a double. Jose Flores singled home Soto with the winning run.
Rodriguez homered and Becerra and Garcia each scored four Crew runs. Alex Flores bagged five hits for Johnny’s.
Henry Calderon went 4-for-4 with five runs batted in to lead Team Talamo past the Good Fellas 10-3. Ray Rojas and Ralphie Martinez each singled and doubled for the Good Fellas.
Steve Borgna collected two doubles and scored twice to help Bike Center past Craig Avila Bail Bonds 8-7. Ruben Ramirez went 3-for-4 for Craig Avila Bail Bonds.
Bad News powered past Aladdin Bail Bonds 19-4 to improve to 3-0 in Men’s Winter CC League play Friday at Las Animas Park.
Ruben Lujan went 4-for-4 and Eric Contreras launched a two-run home run for Bad News. Johnny Andrade singled and tripled for Aladdin.
Sam Juarez and Anthony Bautista hit consecutive RBI-singles in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Boss Hawgs (2-2) am 18-17 nod over Countryside Daycare Center.
Porfirio Rodriguez went 5-for-5 for the Hawgs, Charlie Roe 4-for-6 for Countryside. Jesse Nunez homered for the losers.
Benny Garcia lined a single, double and triple to key a 10-5 Fritter-Schulz Physical Therapy-Humboldt Brewing win over Dutchman’s Pizza. Eric Lopez went 3-for-3 for the 2-1 Pizzamen.
Feather Haven Mill is 3-1 in second place in the Co-Rec Winter C League standings Sunday with a 21-3 decision over Rhino Wiring at Christmas Hill.
Mike Leslie homered and Brett Scott and John DeCarlo Jr. each ripped four Feather hits. Rich Wilson and Eddie Wilson each went 2-for-2 for Rhino Wiring.
Chicks N’ Sticks are also 3-1 after a 17-0 nod over Spirit of M.H. Dave Perez and Ricky Gonzalez each went 4-for-4 for the Sticks. Rich Post, Fred Cisneros, Jennifer Post and Dave Barnes each recorded Spirit hits.
Eric Contreras scored three hits to help Dirty Dozen past State Farm Insurance Big Kahunas 14-4. Manny Rivera ripped three hits for the Kahunas.
Turnin’ Two is 3-0 atop the Co-Rec Winter D League scramble after a 20-4 win over Frame Your Family In Eyewear Sunday at Las Animas. Brian Moreno and Rich Adams each went 4-for-4 for the Two. Mando Martinez and Nancy Schultz each mustered two hits for the Frames.
GILROY – The Slammers took control of the Men’s Winter DD League pennant chase Monday with a 16-3 win over the Loco Boys at Christmas Hill Park.
Kurt Gitmed homered and Ray Covarrubias cracked a three-run triple as the 4-0 Slammers handed the Loco Boys their first loss in three outings. Happy Dog Pizza is second among the league’s seven teams with a 3-0 mark.
Oscar Soriano scored three Slammer runs. Daniel Fellows went 2-for-3 for the Loco Boys.
Happy Dog Pizza needed a three-run rally in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 7-6 victory over Claddagh’s Brew Crew.
Parker Hathaway and Rick Hoiberg each drilled three hits to help Claddagh to a 6-4 lead after six. Singles by Rusty Trevino, Alex Zigar and Tim Chiala earned Happy Dog the first run of the seventh inning. Dan Gavrity tied the score with a double. Chris Vigilante’s sacrifice fly to left plated Chiala with the winner.
The Boyz moved into third at 3-1 with a 20-3 decision over the G-Men. Maciel Urinda went 4-for-4 and Ray Bautista stroked a single and two doubles for the Boyz. Roland Barreras and Ricky Castaneda each went 2-for-3 and scored one G-Men run.
Dutchman’s Pizza moved into a three-team tie for first place in the Women’s Winter League by topping Chaos 27-1 Monday at Las Animas Park.
Diane Lujan went 4-for-4 and Tonya Reyes went 3-for-3 and scored four runs for Dutchman’s Pizza. Laura Vargas scored four Dutchman’s runs. Kelly Kramer went 2-for-2 for Chaos.
Goldsmith Seeds is 2-2 after a 22-1 win over the Energizers. Gina Velasquez poked a single, double and triple, Esmeralda Hernandez a triple and two singles for the winners. Maureen Duggan went 2-for-3 and scored the Energizer run.
Michael’s Mufflers earned a forfeit win over 2-1 Kay’s Kids. Don’s Vending, also 2-1, had a bye.
