FREMONT – The Gavilan men’s soccer team can’t seem to find the back of the net. It’s been the story all season, and it was evident Tuesday when the Rams tied Ohlone College 0-0 in Fremont.

It was the second scoreless tie in the last three games for Gavilan, which is now 0-11-2 in the Coast Conference, 4-13-2 overall.

“We had lots and lots of opportunities. We had a PK and we couldn’t even make that,” coach Albert Marques said. “Of all my years in coaching, this is one of the unluckiest teams I’ve had. Nothing seems to go in.

“We hit the crossbar. We had wide-open shots, but nothing would go in for us.”

On a positive note, Marques added, the team is playing far better than earlier this season.

“We’re holding our own against these teams,” he said.

Gavilan will play its final regular season game on Friday at home against Evergreen College. Kick-off is at 3 p.m.
