A heartfelt plea for the city to make sure that the Gilroy Center for the Arts stays open and vibrant

CHEERS for the aggressive anti-crime sweeps put together by the Gilroy Police Department over the last few weeks. Thirty three arrests the past week on top of a whopping 115 during the recent sweep - largest in the city's history - dubbed Operation Garlic Press. That's a whole bunch of bad people being swept from our streets. Just as importantly, the ground rules are being established: not tolerated in Gilroy. It's good work, and reaching out to the various law enforcement agencies for expertise and assistance paid dividends now and will likely do so again in the future. Thanks for all the good police work to the entire GPD force.

Dear Editor, I am writing on behalf of the Gilroy Arts Alliance/Center for the Arts. This place has really been a great new place for me to be a participant in the Gilroy Community. I feel it has given me purpose, as I volunteer and enjoy all the center has to offer.

Dear Editor, I wish, when you published the comments by the Clown Patrol (Community Pulse), you would name who made the statements. The anonymity protects the fools from standing out. Regarding the decommissioned Gilroy Police Department pistol non-issue, two of the comments by said patrol were so laughable they merit feedback.

Yes, it’s an astounding number that Chris Coté has cost the city by forcing legal maneuverings. Under most circumstances, a $45,000 fee assessment from the city would be outlandish, but, as with most issues involving the controversial Coté, a seemingly simple matter has evolved into a nightmarish situation.

Dear Editor, I want to know who gave Ann Peden the authority to waive rules and laws of the World Health Organization and override rules and regulations from the Santa Clara County Planning Department, Fire Department and other county departments.

Dear Editor, As the Gilroy Center for the Arts flourishes on its diverse art and multicultural activities, it is now potentially grounded by the restrictions of zoning as a retail center from the old Salvation Army site.
