Hernandez, Suarez both go 4-for-4 in Kenko’s 17-15 victory
GILROY – The Kenko Pipelayers rallied past Dee’s Nuts 17-15 Friday to claim a share of first place in the Men’s C League at Las Animas Park.

Matt Hernandez and Nate Suarez each went 4-for-4 as Kenko finished the first half of softball at 4-2, joining the Red Dogz and Interstate Fence atop the six-team league.

The Red Dogz and Interstate Fence play tonight at Las Animas at 7:40 p.m., with the winner facing Kenko at 8:50 for the pennant.

Scott Perkins provided a home run, double and single for Kenko, while Tony Vega went 3-for-3 for Dee’s Nuts.

Mike Wall homered and Sergio Diaz went 3-for-3 as Humboldt Brewing upset the Red Dogz 15-5. Carlos Diaz went 4-for-4 and Eddie Vargas homered for the Red Dogz.

Al Serwet hit two homers, Mike Leslie one as unbeaten Puzzle Systems completed the Men’s DD half with a 23-6 win over Team HJ-FX. Skip Bloom went 3-for-4 for Team HJ-FX.

Ron Altamirano and Nick Ramos each lined three hits to pace Family Affair by Blackout Window Tinting 9-7. Eddie Adame drove in two Blackout runs.

Lopez Vending Machines trimmed the Playaz 20-17 to win the first-half Men’s BB title with a 5-0-1 record Friday at Christmas Hill Park.

Brad Medina went 4-for-4, Marshall Silva 4-for-5 for Lopez Vending. Argelio Olivares mustered a single, double and triple for the Playaz.

J. R. Brewski’s earned the Men’s E first-half crown with a 13-6 decision over St. Mary Men’s Club Thursday at Christmas Hill in the nightcap of a tie-breaker twinbill.

John Weberg sparked the Bew Crew attack with a single, double and triple. Christian Alonzo singled and doubled for St. Mary.

St. Mary Men’s Club pushed across five runs in the top of the seventh to outlast Pray For Rain 13-11. Bob Filice, Kyle Hypes and Gary Botill each managed a third hit for the game in the St. Mary seventh. Ray Garcia and Jesus Enriquez each cracked three singles for the Rain.

Rich Furtado hit three homers, Randy Newton, Nick Bowden and Danny Rubalcava two apiece as first-half Men’s DDD kingpin Dan Keith Septics topped Bay Sheets 33-16 Thursday at Gavilan. Hector Jaso (homer) and Joe Benavides each went 3-for-3 for Bay Sheets.

Joe McRillis and Phil Tercero hit homers to lead Covenant by the Plunderers 31-6. Gilbert Tovar went 3-for-3 for the Plunderers.

Eddie Cordia hit two homers, Nick Magee one as the Chippendales upset No Soup 4 You 26-13. Kevin Gitmed hit a three-run Soup homer.

Lydia Cano went 3-for-3 to highlight a 17-2 Krazy Koytes-Dutchman’s Pizza Co-Rec B League iwn over Dutchman’s-Big Kahunas. Manny Rivera and Danny Benz drove in Kahunas runs.

Joel Gaeta homered twice and Matt Hernandez homered in a 4-for-4 effort as Gaeta’s Taqueria defeated Dee’s Nuts and Cherries 23-8. Junior Gutierrez homered and Danny Rodriguez went 3-for-3 for Dee’s.
