Los Pistoleros captured the second-half Men’s DD Softball League
title Tuesday with a 24-4 decision over the Titans at Christmas
Hill Park.
The 6-0 Pistoleros will face either Feather Haven or Silicon
Valley Concrete in the best 2-of-3 Championship Series the week of
July 13-17.
GILROY – Los Pistoleros captured the second-half Men’s DD Softball League title Tuesday with a 24-4 decision over the Titans at Christmas Hill Park.
The 6-0 Pistoleros will face either Feather Haven or Silicon Valley Concrete in the best 2-of-3 Championship Series the week of July 13-17.
Rick Trujillo scored five runs and Tito Flores drove in six runs with a home run, triple and single for the winners. Paul Brummitt stroked a two-run double for the Titans.
Silicon Valley Concrete reached 3-2 with a 6-4 edging of the Loco Boys. Manny Rivera and Rudy Tovar each notched three hits and scored two Concrete runs. Efrain Arriaga added three extra-base hits. Frank Navarrete went 2-for-3 and scored twice for the Loco Boys.
Alfredo Contreras went 5-for-5 and scored three runs to lift No Soup 4 You (4-1) by Claddagh Brew Crew 21-15.
Joaquin Chacon and Fausto Padilla each stroked a Soup homer. Sam Juarez, Ralph Ortez and Eddie Castaneda each finished with four Soup hits. Willie Weihman went 4-for-4 and Mike Keith drove in four runs for Claddagh.
Brenda Horder Farmer’s Insurance clinched a tie for the second-half Men’s BB crown with a 20-1 topping of Team Guerrero Tuesday at Las Animas Park.
Louie Garcia provided three extra-base hits and Joel Vaca drove in four runs as Farmer’s-Dee’z moved to 5-0. Fred McCasland went 2-for-3 for 0-5 Team Guerrero.
DS Builders edged Self Made 13-12 Monday in Men’s C play to snap a four-game Self Made winning streak.
Chris Salter’s two-out, two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning capped a three-run rally for DS Builders. Self Made dropped to 4-1, one game ahead of 3-2 Dirty Dozen. Self Made and Dirty Dozen play Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Christmas Hill for the league lead. Brian Collom went 4-for-4 for the losers.
Xavier Puente went 2-for-3 and scored twice to help Dirty Dozen past DeHaro Mechanicals 5-1. Daniel Vasquez went 2-for-3 with one RBI for DeHaro.
Corey’s Girls captured the Women’s League season title Wednesday with an 18-3 victory over Garza Sisters & Friends.
Breanna Vasquez and Vanessa Pena hit home runs as Corey’s reached 5-0 with a two-game lead entering the final week of the season. Corey’s also won the first-half title. Cynthia Garza scored two Garza Sisters runs.
Laura Klemba’s three-run triple highlighted a 13-12 All 4 Seasons Pet Services win over Ms. BeHaving. Bria DeLorenzo provided a three-run homer and a single for All 4 Seasons (3-2). Barb Lemberger went 3-for-3 for Ms. BeHaving (4-2).
Pacific Coast Bail Bonds maintained a one-game lead in the Men’s CC League with a 16-4 decision over the Players Wednesday. Jorge Landeros and Brent Boyd homered for the 5-0 Bondsmen.
So Juicy-Vets moved to 4-1 with a 5-4 nod over Dutchman’s Pizza. Mike Montenegro’s RBI-single in the sixth broke a 4-4 tie. Joey Barnes homered and singled for Dutchman’s.
Toby Reyes went 4-for-4 and scored three runs as Team Wicked outlasted Cali Auto 17-7. Greg Lugo tripled and singled for Cali Auto.
Blackout Window Tinting topped the Hit Men 13-5 behind a 4-for-4 effort from Terry Smith. Marco Lopez homered for the Hit Men.
