Interested in what future homes around Hecker Pass may look like?
Future development plans within the Hecker Pass Specific Plan in Gilroy are slated to come center focus this week.
On May 1, Gilroy Planning Commission is slated to consider approving a request to subdivide a portion of the west residential cluster within Hecker Pass Specific Plan per a tentative map.
The request by Gilroy Investors LP is asking for approval to develop a 34-acre parcel into 67 single-family residential lots, one 14.3-acre lot for agricultural production and four lots totaling 6.5 acres for passive and active open space and recreational use.
Home designs and landscaping of the open space areas are also requested for approval.
The project is located on the south side of Hecker Pass Highway just east of Uvas Creek and Gilroy Gardens.
If the commission gives the OK, the item would be forwarded to the Gilroy City Council for final approval.
Earlier this year, the city approved the creation of an 186-lot single- family Meritage Homes subdivision in the east cluster of the specific plan area that’s scheduled to be considered by the city council in May.

The planning commission meets at the Gilroy City Council Chambers, 7351 Rosanna St.
