DeLeon finishes 4-for-4 with triple
GILROY – The Playaz moved to 2-0 atop the Men’s CC League Monday with a 14-7 victory over Malibu Heating and Air Conditioning at Las Animas Park.
The Playaz struck for four runs in the first and third innings before Malibu responded with four runs in the fourth frame. Daniel DeLeon’s RBI-triple keyed the first, Mike Sandoval a two-run single in the Playaz third.
DeLeon went 4-for-4 and Sandoval followed at 3-for-3 for the Playaz. Robert Martinez and Rick Hataway each went 2-for-3 for Malibu Heating.
The Las Animas Sweepers also reached 2-0 with an 11-2 decision over South County Rockery and Building Materials.
Kevin Orozco lashed two home runs and Donnie Gooding went 3-for-3 with three runs scored for Las Animas Sweepers. TIm Sorci and Dave Meacham each went 2-for-3 for South County Rockery.
No Soup 4 You is 1-0-1 after a 17-14 squeaker over In The Zone.
Randy Newton powered a two-run home run and Ralph Ortiz hit a three-run triple for the Soup. Angel Pasillas and Fausto Padilla each drove in three Soup runs. Leroy Martinez homered and Abel Martinez, Junior Campos and Rene Sanchez provided three hits each to the In The Zone cause.
Dirty Dozen is alone at 2-0 in the Men’s CCC League after Monday’s 16-7 win over Countryside Daycare Center at Gavilan Sports Park.
Ricky Salinas and Eric Contreras each smacked four hits to pace the Dirty Dozen attack. Xavier Puente, Salinas and Mike Gracia each scored three Dirty Dozen runs. Albert Alosi highlighted the Countryside Daycare offense with a double and two singles.
Paul Fierro scored on an error in the bottom of the sixth inning to give 1-1 Desperados a 14-13 victory over the Extreme Air Poor Boys.
Gerald Buckman bagged two doubles and a single, Dean Filice and Bob Stuve three singles apiece for the Desperados. Gary Perry homered and Brandon Orlando each homered for the Extreme Poor Boys.
Morgan Hill Bible Church is 1-1 by topping Victory Outreach 11-4. Mike Peternal went 3-for-4 and scored twice for Morgan Hill Bible Church. Johnny Salgado tripled and singled, Louie Martinez went 2-for-2 for Victory Outreach.
