Gilroy police arrests

Public intoxication

Manuel Guevara, 36, transient, 8:29 p.m. Wednesday, near the intersection of Eigleberry and Fourth streets on outstanding warrants for two counts of public intoxication.

Guadalupe Zavala, 23, of San Jose, 4:15 p.m. Thursday, at the Gilroy Police Department, 7301 Hanna St., on an outstanding warrant.

Parole hold

Ruben Bermea, 57, of the 5600 block of Fraizer Lake Road, 2:58 p.m. Thursday, at his residence on an outstanding warrant.

Petty theft

An iPod transmitter valued at $100, binoculars valued at $75, six movie passes valued at $48 and a $50 gift certificate were stolen from an unlocked 2006 Honda Accord parked on the 7000 block of Rosanna Street, between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

Auto burglary

A stereo was stolen from a 1985 Pontiac Firebird parked at Wal-Mart, 7150 Camino Arroyo, between 3 and 11:22 p.m. Thursday. The suspect or suspects broke the driver-side window to get into the car.

Arson

A suspect or suspects set a garbage can and two paper towel dispensers in the women’s bathroom on fire at San Ysidro Park, 451 Lewis St., 6:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Sheriff incidents

Commercial burglary

A portable electric generator was stolen from a business near the intersection of Sycamore and San Martin avenues, in San Martin, about 2 a.m. Nov. 28. The suspect or suspects broke the glass on the west door’s window to get into the business.

Fraudulent use of a debit card

Four fraudulent charges were made to a debit card lost at a Gilroy gas station. The charges were made in Gilroy, San Martin and Morgan Hill between 10 p.m. Nov. 18 and Nov. 22.
