The Gilroy Police Department recently made arrests for a variety of crimes, including assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and causing or permitting a child to suffer. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter between Aug. 31 and Sept. 7.
Assault with a deadly weapon
-Manuel Gomez, 35, Sept. 6 at 1:45 a.m. on the 7800 block of Miller Avenue for one felony charge and a felony charge of willfully causing or permitting a child to suffer.
Burglary
-Dorina Sandoval, 35, Sept. 3 at 7:16 p.m. on the 6700 block of Camino Arroyo for felony first-degree burglary.
Contributing to the delinquency of a minor
-Richard Gomez, 25, Aug. 31 at 3:55 a.m. on the 300 block of Mantelli Drive for one misdemeanor charge and being under teh influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Criminal threats
-Adan Coronel, 31, Sept. 1 at 5:40 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department station for felony threats to commit a crime with intent to terrorize and harrassment by telephone.
Domestic violence
-Tony Travis, 48, Aug. 31 at 1:37 p.m. on the 800 block of Woodcreek Way for two outstanding warrants for battery on a former spouse, fiance or cohabitant and willful disobedience of a court order, as well as felony threats to commit a crime with intent to terrorize and two charges for violation of a protective order.
-Daniel Figueroa, 43, Sept. 1 at 2:29 a.m. near the intersection of Luchessa Avenue and Monterey Street for felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
-Oscar Iniguez, 24, Sept. 4 at 10:04 a.m. on the 500 block of Fairview Drive for battery on a former spouse, fiance or cohabitant and vandalism with damages less than $400.
-Jesse Guerrero, 32, Sept. 6 at 2:14 a.m. on the 200 block of Loupe Court for felony false imprisonment, felony infliction of bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant and malicious removal, destruction of obstruction of the use of a wireless communication device to prevent someone from calling law enforcement.
-Victor Torres, 35, Sept. 6 at 9:23 p.m. on the 7400 block of Chestnut Avenue for battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend.
Driving under the influence
-Joselito Cruz Ramirez, 39, Aug. 31 at 8:37 p.m. near the intersection of Third and Eigleberry streets.
-Eberto Lopez Cano, 21, Aug. 31at 9:08 p.m. on the 7400 block of Rogers Lane for DUI and driving while unlicensed.
-James Guerra, 41, Sept. 1 at 12:05 a.m. near the intersection of Fourth and Church streets for DUI and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
-Manuel Vaca, 54, Sept. 1 at 8:44 p.m. near the intersecton of Church and Pierce streets for DUI and driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher.
Embezzlement
-Gabriel Sawyer, 27, Aug. 30 at 11:07 p.m. near the intersection of Santa Teresa Boulevard and Ballybunion Drive for felony embezzlement of a leased or rented vehicle.
Grand theft
-Samantha McIntire, 22, Sept. 5 at 12:02 a.m. near the intersection of Arroyo Circle and Camino Arroyo for one felony charge, felony second-degree burglary and use or being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Multiple charges
-Sonia Garcia, 39, ASept. 1 at 10:49 a.m. on the 300 block of Mantelli Drive for felony sale or aiding in the sale of stolen property, mail theft, possession of burglary tools, giving a false name to police, petty theft with three or more priors and felony battery on a person.
-Victor Lopez, 24, Sept. 2 at 10:46 p.m. near the intersection of Church and Seventh streets for vandalism with damages of $50,000 or more and inflicting bodily injury on a spouse or cohabitant.
-David Burns, 45, Sept. 5 at 12:35 a.m. on the 1100 block of Driftwood Terrace for making or passing a fictious check and one misdemeanor and one felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
-Victoria Diaz, 40, Sept. 6 at 6:24 p.m. on the 8200 block of Murray Avenue for felony sale or aiding in the sale of stolen property, battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend and driving with a suspended license.
-Patrick Filice, 54, Sept. 7 at 2:16 p.m. on the 7900 block of Westwood Drive for felony possession of a controlled substance, a felony charge for committing a felony while released on probation, unlawful possession of paraphernalia and five charges for re-arrest while on probation.
Petty theft
-Al Diaz, 57, Sept. 6 at 4 p.m. at the Gilroy Police Department station for felony petty theft with specified priors.

-Ezequiel Acosta, 46, Sept. 1 at 10:40 p.m. near the intersection of First and Monterey streets for two felony charges.
-Ernest Cano, 51, Sept. 3 at 6:27 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for one felony and one misdemeanor charge.
-Maura Hernandez Rodriguez, 26, Sept. 5 at 5:10 a.m. on the 7300 block of Chestnut Avenue for one felony charge.
-John Vasquez, 42, Sept. 5 at 8:12 p.m. on the 7300 block of Chestnut Avenue for one felony charge.
-Jose Betancourt, 39, Sept. 7 at 6:02 a.m. on the 7300 block of Maple Street for one felony and one misdemeanor charge.
Possession of a controlled substance for sale
-Gilberto Avila, 32, Sept. 3 at 8:26 a.m. on the 8800 block of Carnation Way for one felony charge, felony possession of marijuana or hash for sale, felony possession for sale or purchase for sale, possession of concentrated cannabis and driving with privileges suspended or revoked. OCT. 6, 2014 UPDATE: The above charges against Avila were dropped.

Possession of metal knuckles
-Reynaldo Coronel, 28, Sept. 5 at 10:37 p.m. near the intersection of Wren and Farrell avenues for one felony charge, improper display of license plates and driving with a suspended license.
Theft or unauthorized use of a vehicle
-Jessica Casas, 22, Sept. 2 at 5:01 p.m. near the intersection of Murray Avenue and San Ysidro Park for one felony charge.

-Shawn Morris, 45, Sept. 4 at 11:30 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for one misdemeanor charge.
-Sherri Elkins, 36, Sept. 7 at 1:46 a.m. near the intersection of First and Monterey streets.
-Joseph Garibaldi, 36, Sept. 7 at 1:50 p.m. on the 7300 block of Forest Street for two charges, one for violation of a protective order in a domestic violence case.
