The Gilroy Police Department responded to a variety of crimes in the last week including assault with a deadly weapon, possession of burglary tools, battery, hit and run and driving under the influence. Arrests were recorded in the GPD blotter from Oct. 22 through Oct. 29.
Assault with a deadly weapon
-Jonathan Orman, 18, on Oct. 23 at 6:05 p.m. on the 100 block of Leavesley Road for felony assault with a deadly weapon.
Battery
-Christa Ramirez, 32, on Oct. 27 at 2:04 a.m. near the intersection of Church Street and Mantelli Drive for battery on a former spouse or fiancé.
Possession of a controlled substance
-Desiree Reyes, 35, on Oct. 24 at 4:25 a.m. near the intersection of Casey Street and Swanston Lane for felony possession of a controlled substance.
-Arthur Sanmiguel, 28, on Oct. 24 at 4:55 a.m. on the 8400 block of Leavesley Road for felony possession of a controlled substance.
Multiple charges
-Adan Urenda, 27, on Oct. 22 at 9:45 p.m. near the intersection of Forest and Sixth streets for possession of marijuana and failure to come to a complete stop.
-Steven Perez, 33, on Oct. 24 at 12:17 a.m. near the intersection of San Ysidro Avenue and Leavesley Road for hit and run, driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or higher and driving under the influence.
-Estevan Lizarraga, 32, on Oct. 24 at 4:45 a.m. near the intersection of Mayock Road and Obata Way for felony possession of a narcotic controlled substance and driving while unlicensed.
-Raymond Chavez, 33, on Oct. 25 at 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey and Old Gilroy streets for felony possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.
-Jacob Hall, 28, on Oct. 26 at 12:05 a.m. on the 500 block of Fairview Drive for felony possession of a narcotic controlled substance, a felony count of carrying a firearm on his person or in a vehicle, felony possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, a felony count of being under the influence of a controlled substance with a loaded firearm, felony possession of stolen property, resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer, evading a police officer while in a vehicle, possession of burglary tools, possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
-Sergio Quezada, 38, on Oct. 27 at 3:20 a.m. on the 7200 block of Church Street for resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer, battery against a spouse, cohabitant or friend and an outstanding warrant for a felony count for possession of a controlled substance.
-Jaime Gonzalez, 26, on Oct. 27 at 3:37 a.m. near the intersection of Forest and Martin streets for felony possession of a controlled substance, two counts of driving with a suspended license, exhibition of speed and felony possession of a dirk or dagger.
Under the influence
-Michael Anderson, 50, on Oct. 23 at 2:45 p.m. near the intersection of Swanston and Casey lanes for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
-Luis Jimenez, 33, on Oct. 25 at 4:50 a.m. near the intersection of Monterey and Tenth streets for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance and two counts of drinking intoxicating liquor in a public place.
-Jose Chapa, 75, on Oct. 25 at 11:40 p.m. near the intersection of Monterey and Third streets for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance, resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer and drinking intoxicating liquor in public.
-Frank Ruberto, 48, on Oct. 26 at 12:25 a.m. near the intersection of Hirasaki Avenue and Martini Court for two counts of use/being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.
-Luis Bobadilla, 29, on Oct. 26 at 2:05 a.m. near the intersection of Church Street and Woodworth Way for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
-Danny Hernandez, 23, on Oct. 28 at 1:33 a.m. on the 7300 block of Forest Street for being under the influence of alcohol, drugs or a controlled substance.
Petty theft
-Vincent Valenzuela, 27, on Oct. 29 at 2:28 p.m. on the 7100 block of Camino Arroyo for petty theft.
Resisting, delaying or obstructing police
-Jesse Santos, 35, on Oct. 26 at 11:05 a.m. on the 8100 block of Forest Street for resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer.
Outstanding warrants
-Francisco Retiz, 46, on Oct. 26 at 1:12 a.m. near the intersection of Hornlein Court and Monterey Street for outstanding warrants for contempt of court, felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, failure to pay and driving with a suspended license.
Driving violations
-Lisa Espino, 30, on Oct. 23 at 5:45 p.m. near the intersection of Wren Avenue and Third Street for driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
Contempt of court
-Sukuma Wilson, 33, on Oct. 22 at 4 p.m. near the intersection of Eighth and Forest streets for contempt of court.
