Police arrested two minors and charged them with attempted murder for their involvement in a stabbing this weekend in Gilroy that may have been gang-motivated.
Officers arrested a 15-year-old male from Hollister and a 17-year-old from Gilroy—whose names are being withheld due to their age—just after 4:07 p.m. Sunday.
Police were called to the 8300 block of Springdale Court on a report of a fight, and when officers arrived, they found one male victim suffering from a stab wound to the upper body and two other male victims with unspecified head injuries, according to Gilroy Police Department Sgt. Pedro Espinoza.
All three victims were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and they are expected to survive, Espinoza added. The victims, all from Gilroy, were 21, 23 and 32-years-old.
After speaking with witnesses at the scene, police got a description of the vehicle two suspects fled in—a silver BMW sedan. Officers found the two suspects inside a car matching that description just two miles from the crime scene.
They were arrested without incident and charged with attempted murder, Espinoza said.
