Gilroy – Detectives with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department are working on numerous leads in the death of Crystal Ann Morado, 20, the Salinas resident who was found dead on Hecker Pass Highway earlier this week, police said. They do not have any suspects at this time.
Morado’s body was discovered Monday afternoon near the Santa Cruz County line by a commercial trucker driving westbound on Hecker Pass.
About 11:30am, he noticed Morado’s car parked, facing east, on the south side of the highway just east of Pole Line Road with the motor running. An hour later, on his return trip, the trucker saw the car was still there, with its motor still running and headlights on. He approached the vehicle and discovered Morado slumped over in the passenger seat, not the driver’s seat as previously reported. There was blood on her body, deputies said.
