With guns drawn, police responded to a report of a man in north Gilroy roaming his property with a gun.
As it turns out, the man had a pellet rifle, Sgt. Chad Gallacinao said. Police received a call from a passing motorist and sent officers to the property near Monterey Road and Cohansey Avenue about 4:14 p.m. Friday. The man surrendered his weapon willingly. Police did not arrest the man as he had not committed a crime.
“We did think it was a gun at first,” he said.
