and 5 p.m. April 27.
Commercial burglary

A burglar used a rock to break the left glass door at the Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, 681 Leavesley Road, between 11:19 p.m. April 23 and 4:08 a.m. April 24. The suspect or suspects entered through the broken door and went to the office, where they pried open the office door. Once inside the office, the suspect or suspects used a key to open a safe and took about $1,644 and a check.

An unknown male pried open the front doors of the Valero gas station on First Street, 11:55 p.m. April 25. The burglar hopped the register counter, hoping to steal a safe, and left several latent fingerprints behind. The suspect was the passenger in a red newer model mid-sized pickup truck similar to a Dodge Dakota, which fled eastbound on First Street. The suspect was a white or Hispanic male, 18 to 25 years old, between 6-feet and 6-feet, 2-inches tall, with a thin build, short curly dark hair, and no beard or mustache. He was last seen wearing a zip-up crewneck black leather jacket, dark pants, black sneakers with white laces and white soles.

Animal abuse

The tenant at a residence on Church Avenue left a dog locked in a bedroom with no food or water for two days while the tenant was gone. Police were unable to locate the tenant and the dog was taken into protective custody at the police kennels, April 24.

Missing juvenile

A juvenile who lives at the children’s home on IOOF Avenue did not return from school in Morgan Hill, 8 a.m. April 24. He also took clothes with him.

A female juvenile on Crawford Street was reported as a runaway by her parents, 11:30 p.m. April 25. She returned home hours later.

A missing juvenile was reported from Olympic Court, 12:12 a.m. April 27.

Grand theft

A robber stole a purse from the front passenger seat of a parked vehicle while the woman was inside a store on First Street, 6:11 p.m. April 24. The suspect reached through the open window and escaped on a bicycle with $700 in cash, a Bank of America ATM and three payroll checks.

Auto burglary

A burglar broke the driver’s side window of a white 1991 Mazda on Chestnut Street and took a stereo valued at $320, a 10-inch sub woofer valued at $150, a woofer mounting box valued at $150, a maroon JanSport backpack valued at $140, Spanish textbooks valued at $200 and medical survival kits valued at $250, 1:05 a.m. April 25.

A burglar punched the door lock of a 2001 Chevrolet parked on East 10th Street and took a Sony CD player valued at $200, a 80-gigabyte black iPod valued at $350, a 30-gigabyte iPod valued at $200, and a black purse with an identification card and credit cards, 8:27 a.m. April 26.

A burglar broke into a van on Miller Avenue and stole $120 in cash and an identification card, between 6 and 9 p.m. April 25.

A burglar broke into a car on First Street and stole a brown purse, a wallet with $200 cash, an identification card, a passport, a diaper bag valued at $50 and two Verizon LG phones valued at $100, 10:10 p.m. April 26.

Unknown suspects broke a window of a red 1996 Honda on Camino Arroyo and took miscellaneous documents, 5 p.m. April 24.

A burglar broke into a gray 2005 Honda on Churchill Place and stole a first aid kit valued at $25, between 4:15 p.m. April 23 and 11:40 a.m. April 24.

A burglar broke into a 2002 Volkswagen on Churchill Place and stole an iPod valued at $300, $250 in cash and a bank-issued Visa card, which the thief used to make $255 in charges, between 12:01 and 5:30 a.m. April 24.

Fraud

A robbery took a check from a mailbox on Peregrine Drive and changed the name and amount on the check and cashed it at an unknown Chase bank, 11:55 April 25.

ID theft

An unknown suspect or suspects used someone’s identity to open a credit account on Camino Arroyo, 3:42 p.m. April 18.

Assault

An unknown person leaned out of the passenger door of a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup on Rogers Lane and shot at a victim, striking the person in the legs and torso, 10:06 p.m. April 25.

A Hispanic male adult confronted someone in the parking lot of Taco Bell on 10th Street and stabbed the victim in his left arm and fled the scene in a dark sedan, possibly a Ford Thunder Bird, 7:53 a.m. April 26.

Stolen vehicle

A green Volvo SL 70 four-door with license no. 5XZE843 with a “La Bueno” sticker on the right bumper was taken from Rosanna Street, between 6 p.m. April 25 and 5 a.m. April 26.

A robber stole a tan 1990 Honda Civic from Arroyo Circle, between 1:30 and 7 p.m. April 26.

Non-injury accident

The driver of a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado backed into a man in a wheelchair on the 300 block of First Street, 10:09 a.m. April 26. The driver was unlicensed and had no vehicle insurance. The vehicle was impounded.

Residential burglary

A burglar opened the window to a bedroom on Mantelli Drive and stole $1,000 in cash, a box of .40 caliber ammo valued at $20, two men’s long sleeve dress shirts valued at $50 and a pair of cubic zirconia earrings valued at $75, between 10:30 p.m. April 25 and 10:30 a.m. April 26.

Hit and run

A black 2005 Honda Civic rear-ended a vehicle on Church and Tenth streets and fled the scene, 4:41 p.m. April 26.

Road laws

A blue 1995 Honda Civic was towed from Eigleberry and Sixth streets, 2:17 a.m. April 27.

A green 1991 Honda Civic on Moro Drive had an expired registration, 4:55 a.m. April 17.

Forgery

An unknown person entered Costco on Camino Arroyo and cashed a forged check, 4:15 p.m. April 27. The person left in a black 1996 Dodge Neo.

Vehicle tampering

A black 1999 Jeep was tampered with on Lilly Avenue, between 8:30 p.m. April 25 and 9 a.m. April 26.

A black 2005 Honda Accord on Ousley Avenue was tampered with, between 11:30 p.m. April 26 and 9:10 a.m. April 27.

Lost property

A lost property report was filed on Leavesley Avenue and U.S. 101, 4 p.m. April 23.
