Grand theft

A thief or thieves stole more than 600 feet of copper piping from Arroyo Circle, between Oct. 31 and Nov. 3.

A thief or thieves stole a tire rim, a car cover and tire with a combined value of $800 from Carmel Street, between 11 p.m. Nov. 23 and 5 a.m. Nov. 24.

A thief or thieves stole a Dewalt tool box valued at $450 from West Sixth Street, between 8 a.m. Oct. 20 and 2 p.m. Nov. 25

Weapons

Suspected Norteno gang members called the victim a “scrap” and brandished a handgun at him on Carmel Street, 1:15 p.m. Nov. 11.

Commercial burglary

A burglar or burglars removed several items from a motel room on Monterey Street, 5:39 p.m. Nov. 11. The items included drapes valued at $360, a refrigerator valued $195, pictures valued at $240, pillows and blankets valued at $380, a space heater valued at $150, a couch valued at $750, tables valued at $500, and lamps valued at $250.

A burglar broke into a store on the 7700 block of Monterey Road and took a cash register with $100 in it, 12:26 p.m. Nov. 29.

A burglar or burglar broke a window on a locked storage construction yard trailer on Sunrise Drive and Kite Drive and took a computer monitor valued at $200 and tools valued at $400, between 5 p.m. Nov. 27 and 7 a.m. Nov. 30.

Auto burglary

A burglar or burglars stole IDs, jackets and school belongings valued at $200 from a white 2003 Toyota Corolla on First and Monterey streets, 6:30 p.m. Nov. 6.

A burglar or burglars broke into a car on Alexander Street near 10th Street, between 3 p.m. Nov. 9 and 3 a.m. Nov. 10.

A burglar or burglar broke into a locked a 1993 gray Ford van on Monterey Street and stole more than $500 in equipment, between 5:30 p.m. Nov. 23 and 6:11 Nov. 24.

A burglar or burglars broke the passenger-side window of a white 2003 Cadillac Escalade and took a credit card and license, between 2 and 3 a.m. Nov. 26.

A burglar or burglars entered a vehicle on East Luchessa Avenue and took a cream-colored purse with a wallet with $80 cash in it, a men’s sport coat and pants valued at $300, a brown clothing bag valued at $25, a personal check for $1,000, and three small flashlights valued at $20, between 2 p.m. Nov. 28 and 9 a.m. Nov. 29.

A burglar or burglars broke the front passenger window of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and took a Canon Rebel camera valued at $800, a Canon lens valued at $989, a DMC-7S1 digital camera valued at $400 and a Tamaro lens valued at $1,000, between 8:30 p.m. Nov. 23 and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 24.

A burglar or burglars took $5,000 in prepaid phone cards from a white 2003 Suzuki on Mayock Road, between 8 and 11 p.m. Nov. 20.

A burglar or burglars took a student book bag with pens, pencils, books and binders from a red 1990 Oldsmobile on Church Street, between 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 23 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 24.

A burglar or burglars took credit cards and $50 in cash from a car in the Wal-mart parking lot, 7150 Camino Arroyo, between 10 p.m. Nov. 26 and 12:01 a.m. Nov. 27.

Identification theft

A thief or thieves opened about 20 credit accounts using a Social Security card from a woman on Santa Fe Drive, between Jan. 1, 2003 and Jan. 1, 2007.

Bomb threat

Home Town Buffet on Arroyo Circle received a bomb threat via phone from a caller who appeared to be a young female, 1:17 p.m. Nov. 8. No bomb was found.

Injury accident

A pedestrian was crossing the road in a crosswalk at First Street and Westwood Drive and was hit and knocked down by the driver of a blue 2002 Suzuki who failed to yield the right of way, 7:46 a.m. Nov. 23.

Missing juvenile

A juvenile was reported missing from a home on Monterey Road, 5 p.m. Nov. 20.

A juvenile did not go to school or return home on Princevalle Street but was later located after police got involved, Nov. 23.

A juvenile was reported missing from a home on Chestnut Street, 7:30 p.m. Nov. 25.

A juvenile left his home on Carmel Street to visit his mother, 3:23 p.m. Nov. 26.

A 17-year-old female was reported as missing by her mother from Gaunt Avenue, 1:02 a.m. Nov. 29.

A mother reported that her daughter ran away from a Fairview Drive home, 7 p.m. Nov. 26.

Stolen vehicle

A thief or thieves stole a white 2002 Toyota from a driveway on Maria Way while it was running, 8:30 a.m. Nov. 23. The vehicle was later recovered by the Santa Clara County Office of the Sheriff.

A person left his vehicle parked on East Ninth Street, between 3:35 and 5:05 p.m. Nov. 26. When he came out, he found his car gone and glass on the ground.

A thief or thieves stole a brown 1991 Toyota from in front of a residence on Swaner Driver, between 6 p.m. Nov. 29 and 2 p.m. Nov. 30.

Assault

Two people got into a verbal argument during a child custody exchange on First Street, 4:30 p.m. Nov. 22. One person grabbed the other on the chest, causing injury.

The ex-husband of the victim’s girlfriend struck the victim during an argument on Juniper Drive, 3:48 p.m. Nov. 23.

A man hit his girlfriend with his hand on Monterey Street, 6:23 p.m. Nov. 23.

A woman reported that a man wrapped a T-shirt around her neck and threatened to choke her if she refused to have sex with him on Farrell Avenue, 4 a.m. Nov. 24.

A married man and a woman had affairs for about two months between October and November. During this time, the man sexually assaulted the woman in his vehicle on two separate occasions on Camino Arroyo.

Petty theft

A woman was staying at a residence on Parish Way. Someone noticed the person looking through items and placing cash into her pocket, 8 a.m. Nov. 23. The witness didn’t know the money didn’t belong to the thief at the time. Three $100 bills were taken.

A thief or thieves stole a wallet with identification from IOOF Avenue, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 11.

A thief was seen stealing a cell phone while in the victim’s house on Forest Street, between 9 and 10 a.m. Nov. 26.

A Hispanic male adult stole two 30-packs of Bud Light from a business on First Street, 5:34 p.m. Nov. 26.

Two males stole a bottle of SKYY vodka from Safeway on First Street, 9:48 p.m. Nov. 28.

A thief or thieves stole a license plate from a 1999 Silver Mazda on Camino Arroyo, 5:58 p.m. Nov. 29.

A juvenile was cited for petty theft after stealing four bags of Funyuns chips from a store on Monterey Street, 11 p.m. Nov. 23.

A thief or thieves stole a AIWA sound system valued at $100 from Cypress Court, between 10 p.m. Nov. 24 and 7 a.m. Nov. 25.

A thief or thieves stole two wicker chairs valued at $300 from Church Street, between 6 and 8 p.m. Nov. 23.

Fraud

A thief or thieves used a credit card of a resident on Swaner Drive, 1:47 p.m. Nov. 23.

A thief or thieves gained access to a person’s credit card and used it at Old Navy to make $160 in purchases, between Nov. 18 and Nov. 23.

An unidentified person lost his wallet in Mountain View on Nov. 9 and later found that a stolen check had been cashed using his name.

An unknown person tried to cash a fraudulent check at Church and First streets, 4 p.m. Nov. 24.

An unidentified person used a money order to purchase a vehicle from a Web site only to later discover it was a scam, 8:31 p.m. Nov. 25.

Non-injury accident

A person was driving northbound on Princevalle Street and failed to see traffic stopped in front of him at the intersection on Ninth Street, 3:12 p.m. Nov. 23. The person attempted to stop, but it was too late and rear-ended the vehicle in front of it.

Residential burglary

Burglars kicked the front door of a Poplar Drive residence and took six rifles, silver valued at $1,000, miscellaneous jewelry valued at $2,000, a Canon camera valued at $200 and $600 in cash, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Nov. 23.

A burglar or burglars stole a Dell laptop valued at $798, a Toshiba laptop valued at $800, an external hard drive valued at $200, a black computer case and pack valued at $60, a silver digital camera valued at $25, alcohol valued at $90, and $220 in $20 bills from a residence on Sherwood Drive, between 3 p.m. Nov. 23 and 2 p.m. Nov. 24.

Two or three burglars were seen in and around a large red semi on Murray Avenue, 10 p.m. Nov. 25. Once police arrived on scene, the suspects took off running south through a field and then east through the creek. The suspects had broken into the truck and taken headsets and radios valued at $2,000, an inverter valued at $200, and speakers valued at $100.

Vandalism

A vandal or vandals keyed a blue 2003 Chevrolet Suburban parked in an employee parking lot on Hanna Street, between 6:45 a.m. and 5:47 p.m. Nov. 23.

A vandal or vandals keyed or scratched vehicles on Gaunt Avenue, between 10 a.m. Nov. 23 and 5 a.m. Nov. 24.

A vandal or vandals marked a garbage area on First Street, 8:30 a.m. Nov. 24.

Prowling

An unknown person was seen prowling in the backyard of a Yorktown Drive residence but was scared off by the homeowner, 9:50 p.m. Nov. 23. This was the third prowling incident in the last 1.5 weeks.

Hit and run

A black 2006 Land Rover sideswiped a white 1998 Chevrolet in a parking lot on First Street and left the scene, 8:16 a.m. Nov. 24.

A red 1997 Ford and a black 1998 Jeep Cherokee were involved in a hit-and-run accident on Monterey Street, 1 p.m. Nov. 14.

Weapons

Two people were cited and released after having a loaded pellet pistol at Brownell Middle School, 7800 Carmel St., 10:30 a.m. Nov. 24.

Disturbance

Two people were involved in a physical altercation at Gilroy High School, 750 W. 10th St., 11:45 a.m. Nov. 24. Both sustained injuries. One person was cited and released.

Found property

An unidentified person found a backpack with books and papers on Hanna and Seventh streets, 10:57 p.m. Nov. 24.

Injury accident

An unknown number of cars got into an accident on Arroyo Circle and Leavesley Road, 8:34 a.m. Nov. 26.

Domestic disturbance

A domestic dispute between a husband and wife occurred on Dovetail Way, 9:41 p.m. Nov. 28.

Road laws

A blue 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was towed from Monterey Road, 12:54 a.m. Nov. 20.

Lost property

An unidentified person lost property on Chestnut Street, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Nov. 14.

An unidentified person lost property on Wren Avenue, between 10 a.m. Nov. 14 and 12:30 p.m. Nov. 15.

Social host ordinance

Police responded to a social host ordinance report on Rogers Lane, 12:20 a.m. Nov. 29.
