Police are looking into the death of a 3-month-old who was
brought to Saint Louise Regional Hospital, but a preliminary
investigation does not indicate a crime or neglect, according to a

Police are looking into the death of a 3-month-old who was brought to Saint Louise Regional Hospital, but a preliminary investigation does not indicate a crime or neglect, according to a Gilroy Police Department press release.

About 5:45 p.m. Friday, hospital staff reported the infant in medical distress. Efforts to revive the infant were unsuccessful. The infant’s parents and family members were at the hospital and are cooperating with investigators, including the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, Santa Clara County Medical Examiners Office and Gilroy Police Detectives, police said.

An autopsy will be performed in the coming days in an attempt to identify the cause of death.
