On May 31 at 5:45 a.m., 45-year-old Adolfo Huerta was arrested for a myriad of charges related to methamphetamine sales in his home on the 7200 block of Carmel Avenue in Gilroy.

The Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Gilroy Police Department’s Anti-Crime Team obtained a warrant to searched Huerta’s home, and once inside, investigators found more than a half ounce of methamphetamine, packaging materials, scales, police scanners and surveillance cameras related to Mr. Huerta’s operation, according to a press release from the GPD.

Huerta was arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sale, for being a felon in possession of ammunition, maintaining a location for the purpose of narcotics sales, possession of a false drug compartment, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and a probation violation. He was taken to Santa Clara County Jail.

Also inside the residence, investigators found a 38-year-old woman, Katrice Vaca, who had five outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was taken to Santa Clara County Jail and not charged with any of the crimes related to the search warrant.  

Huerta has been arrested by GPD before. Here are the arrests according to police blotters obtained by the Dispatch:

  • Adolfo Huerta, 45 of Gilroy, on Seventh Street, at 7:10 p.m. Aug. 24, 2011 for resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer.
  • Adolfo Huerta, 43, of the 7200 block of Carmel Street, 11:35 p.m. July 2010, at Monterey and Third streets on a warrant for annoying phone calls. Police then charged him at 11:45 p.m. with driving with suspended privileges.
  • Adolfo Huerta, 42, of the 7200 block of Carmel Street, 6:03 p.m. April 2009, near Lewis and Railroad streets for possession of a controlled substance and on warrants for making annoying phone calls and obscene threats, failure to appear in court, and driving without insurance.
