Police arrested a man they say brandished a large kitchen knife while attempting an armed robbery Monday morning at the Gilroy Premium Outlets, according to the Gilroy Police Department.
Darrell A. Gentry, 25, was booked on suspicion of attempted armed robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon, according to a GPD press release.
A second suspect, described as a black or Hispanic male adult between 28 and 30 years old, remains at large, police said.
Around 9:20 a.m., police were dispatched to the 8300 block of Arroyo Circle for a report of an attempted robbery. One suspect reportedly tried to stab the victim with what was described as a “large kitchen knife,” according to the GPD.
Shortly after, officers located Gentry, who matched a suspect description and was found in possession of a large knife.
