GILROY – A man escaped on foot from a police investigator after fighting with him over a parole-violation arrest.
The investigator, a member of the Gilroy Police Department’s gang/drug specialty Anti-Crime Team, was not injured. The ACT is looking for the suspect, police say.
The fight began Thursday as the investigator tried to handcuff the suspect in the area of the Pacific Mobile Estates mobile-home park at 500 W. Tenth St. The investigator had stopped the man’s vehicle there for failing to signal properly before making a turn.
The investigator did arrest a Gilroy woman in the vehicle with the parolee after the investigator found a half-ounce of methamphetamine, forged checks and a fake identification card in her possession, according to police.
Elizabeth Elaine Gonzalez, 25, of 145 Westwood Drive, was booked into jail on suspicion of possession for sale of a controlled substance, possession of forged checks and possession of a false ID, all felonies. She also had outstanding warrants for forgery, giving false information to police and driving with a suspended license.
