Christopher 2, Salinas 1

Nathan Bonsell went six and two thirds, giving up one unearned run, to help lead Christopher past Salinas 2-1 Tuesday.
Brennan Wilson had the big bat, going 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI. He drove in Gordon Papalias, who went 1-2 for the day.
Kevin Willard rounded things out with an RBI, going 1-3.
Christopher struck first to start the game before Salinas tied things in the bottom of the first with its only run.
The Cougars got the run back in the second and that’s where the game stood as both sides fell into a pitcher’s duel.
Salinas’ Ross Scarr took the loss, going five innings giving up two runs, one earned, on six hits.
Christopher’s Tyler Fhurong earned the save, striking out the only batter he faced in the bottom of the seventh.
Monte Vista Christian 6, Gilroy 3
Despite seven hits, Gilroy wasn’t able to overcome Monte Vista’s three-spot in the third, ultimately losing 6-3 on Tuesday.
Jimmy Lemberger led the Mustangs, going 1-3 with two RBIs and a double.
Softball
Salinas 19, Christopher 12
Christopher gave up nine runs in the sixth against Salinas Tuesday to fall 19-12.
The two sides combined for 31 runs on 30 hits with just six errors in a game that swung on one inning.
The Cougars had just taken a 12-10 lead thanks to plating four runs in the top half of the sixth before Salinas rallied for the nine spot to steal the game.
Brook Loesch led the offense going 1-5 with a home run, four RBIs and two runs scored.
Michaela Decker went 2-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, followed by Brittany Souza, who went 2-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, and Morgan England, who went 3-5 with a run scored.
