Before Saturday’s game with Evergreen, the Christopher girls water polo team asked coach Jim Shuster if its opponent was any good. “Maybe,” he replied, “But you are very good.”
He was right.
The Cougars topped Evergreen 6-3 to pick up their sixth win in a row and improve to 10-8 overall this season.
Malaya Santos and Vangie McNamara both scored two goals a piece, while Megan Velho and Sierra Ceballos added another on eight attempts.
Ashley Irby came up with eight steals in the game.Â
Nicole Andresen was stellar in net, blocking eight shots for Christopher.
The girls will be back in the water at 4 p.m. Sept. 21 to host San Lorenzo Valley.Â
