The Gilroy girls golf team was three strokes shy of an upsetting Alisal Monday, but the Mustangs aren’t hanging their heads.
Gilroy lost 321-319 at Salinas Fairways behind a solid performance from match medalist Nicole Dan, who carded a 53 for the Mustangs.
Alessandra Esposito and Cassidy Gilmore both scored 60s for Gilroy and Judith Diaz notched a 67.
Gilroy (0-3) will play at Santa Catalina at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Cougars fall to Pacific Grove, Notre Dame
The Cougars dropped their third straight matching, falling 314-260 to Pacific Grove Monday and 333-280 to Notre Dame Thursday.
Christopher’s Mia Navarro was the co-match medalist against Notre Dame, carding a 43. Zoe Benn and Madisen Ruelas both scored a 64.
Nina Velez led Christopher against Pacific Grove with a 51. Navarro was right on her heels with a 53. Frankie Vanni notched a 60 and Madisen Ruelas a 69.
The Cougars will host North Monterey County at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
