 Raymond showed courage in the face of adversity, with a two year struggle with a terminal illness.
 Surrounded by family and friends, Raymond M. Valadez, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather peacefully went to be with the Lord. Â
 Raymond. a longtime resident of Gilroy, is survived by his wife of 57 years. Madeline, daughters Lisa DeLeon, Sonya [Ray] Ramsay, Christina Valadez [John Nava] and six granddaughters, one grandson, and two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. Sisters Crucie M. Valadez, Dr. Concepcion M. Valadez, Petra M. Valadez, Cipriana Villalobos [Juan], brother Juan M. Valadez, Dr. Senon M.Valadez[Teresita], and many nieces and nephews through out the US.
 Raymond was a man of many trades, from owning Ray’s Deluxe Barbershop in down town Gilroy for many years, being a security guard, plumber to working for the Gilroy Unified School District for 24 years. Â
 His favorite pastimes included fishing, camping, photography, gardening, traveling to Europe, Philippines, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico and many of the National parks. He loved going to the Indian casinos to enjoy a penny slot machine as well as the buffets.
 Dedicated to the Gilroy Veterans post #217. He also served in many position as well as Commander of American Legion post #217 for 2 yrs. Board member of the Legion Hall Association, President of the Filipino-American Seniors Citizens club for eight years. A 30 year Elks Lodge member, and Morgan Hill Fish & Game.
 He was a man of integrity, valor and honor, who had a positive influence on many lives.
 Raymond will be dearly missed by family, friends and his cat Spooky.
