Hard Ninety needed the full 40 minutes to secure a 57-55 Men’s Basketball League victory over Morgan Hill Garage Door Wednesday at Solorsano Gymnasium.
JT Tipton scored 14 points, including a three-point field goal in the closing minute, to help Hard Ninety to a 7-0 record.
Jesse Mejia connected for three 3-point field goals on the way to 15 points as Morgan Hill Garage Door kept pace with the league leaders. Eric Smith, owner of three 3-pointers, added 13 points, Matt Wendt 11. Morgan Hill Garage Door (2-6) held a 31-28 halftime lead.
Destry Jones came off the bench to provide 11 points for the Hard Ninety cause. Marc Cisneros added 10 points from the point guard spot.
The Warriors remained in second place at 5-2 with a 70-40 decision over the Cool Guys.
Mike Vanni struck for 22 points to guide the Warrior offense. Vance Lee added 16 points, Jason Ramirez 11 for the winners.
Daniel Estrada used three 3-pointers to take scoring honors for the Cool Guys with 11 points. Abel Mendoza contributed 10 points for the Cool Guys.
The Big Grievances (5-3) clinched a playoff spot with a 55-48 victory over Yea Buddy.
Nick Langone carried the Grievances offense with a 19-point outburst. LaMont Chappell secured 16 points, Tony Shebib 12 for the winners. Justin Nicholson slashed to 29 points for Yea Buddy. Jeff Smith helped the Yea Buddy cause with 13 points. Big Grievances held a 27-21 halftime lead.
