Anritsu stopped Good, Bad & Ugly 10-7 Friday at Christmas Hill Park to assume sole possession of first place in the Men’s DD Softball League standings.
Andy Alarcon lined a home run and Ben Hartshorn added a triple and two singles as Anritsu dropped Ugly into a three-team tie for second place at 2-1. Francisco Flores added a double and two singles for the winners. Donny Gooding went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the losers.
Louie & the Outlaws (2-1) edged past Gil’s FX 13-8. Art Tomasetti went 4-for-4 and Abel Martinez scored three runs for the Outlaws. Dave Espinosa went 3-for-3 for Gil’s FX.
Avila’s Market (2-1) defeated Alice Cortez Bail Bonds-Garlic Shoppe 23-8 behind a cycle by Troy Camp and four hits from Dru Ornelas. Daniel Garcia scored three runs and Chris Velasco went 3-for-4 for Cortez-Garlic.
Mike Hernandez hit a three-run home run to lead 4-2 Vargas Taxes-Gaeta’s Taqueria to a 12-5 win over Advanced Wheels in Co-Rec B League play Tuesday at Las Animas Park.
Mike Hernandez added a triple, double and single to the Vargas-Gaeta’s offense. Cris Wong hit a three-run home run for Advanced Wheels.
Corey’s Girls moved one game ahead in the Women’s League second-half title chase at 5-0 with a 20-5 victory over Wendy’s Girls Wednesday at Las Animas Park.
Angelica Hernandez went 4-for-4 and Lori Dixon scored four runs for the pace-setters. Alicia Reese anchored the Wendy’s Girls offense with a home run and double, scoring twice.
Just Teazin’ outlasted Pops’ Gals 14-8 to leave both clubs at 2-3.
Tracy Mason hit a triple and scored two runs for Just Teazin’. Bria DeLorenzo went 3-for-4, Maureen Hughes 3-for-5 for Pops’ Gals.
Town Plaza Barbers lost a chance to lock up the second-half Men’s D League title Wednesday by dropping a 22-14 decision to Feather Haven.
Brett Scott went 5-for-5 and scored five runs for 3-2 Feather Haven. Eric Keen provided four Feather hits and scored four runs.
The Barbers, 4-1 with a one-game lead over four 3-2 teams, pushed across eight runs in the top of the first inning. Feather Haven took the lead in the fourth with a 13-run explosion. Dave Perez hit a home run and two singles for the Barbers.
Trevino Brothers Construction trimmed Players-HD Auto Glass 15-13 to leave both teams at 3-2.
Bubba Castaneda homered and Matt Hernandez scored four runs for the Builders. Mike Radcliff went 4-for-4 and Leon Lamson homered, doubled and singled for the Players-HD.
The Borrachos also reached 3-2 with a 7-2 nod over the VFW Vets. Noe DeLaTorre roped two triples and a single for the Borrachos. Daniel Montenegro stroked an RBI-triple and a single for the VFW Vets.
Super Air Heating & Cooling upset A-Plus Learning Center 17-14 to leave both teams at 2-3. Aaron Tilley homered in a 4-for-5 showing for Super Air. Teammate Larry Acosta went 4-for-4. Jason Mesa produced four hits for A-Plus Learning Center.
