GILROY—The Bash Brothers maintained a one game lead in the Men’s Friday E Softball League pennant chase with a 12-8 victory over the Heathens at Las Animas Veterans Park.
Tyler Osbourne went 3 for 3 and scored three runs as the Brothers moved to 8-1 with three games to play in the regular season. John Gonzalez added three hits and plated two runs. Daniel Banderas hit a two-run triple in the seventh inning as the Heathens struck for five runs.
Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors (7-2) powered past Just Cuz 27-10 as Benjie Sanchez hit a grand slam, John Hagins scored five runs and Dave Newton lined six hits. Marcus Medina and Gabe Hernandez each hit a two-run single as Just Cuz scored seven runs in the third frame.
AJM Plastic Surgery followed with an 8-4 nod over Just Cuz. Daniel Valdez went 4 for 4 for the winners. Roger Hernandez stroked a home run, triple and single for Just Cuz.
Friday Men’s EE
California Overhead remained in second place with a 17-16 edging of Gil’s Warriors at Christmas Hill Park.
Adrian Ponce singled and scored on a two-out single by Jay Trujillo to lift Overhead to a 5-4 victory. Henry Quistian netted five hits for California Overhead. Skip Bloom went 4 for 4 for Gil’s Warriors (3-6).
The Aztecs joined the Doors in second place at 5-4 by trimming OMG 11-7. Felix Martinez homered and Rion Alnas stroked three Aztec hits. Carlos Andrade tripled and singled for OMG (4-5).
Thursday Men’s EE
Cole Campbell hit two home runs and John Anderson added one to help Claddagh Brew Crew (7-3) past Sons of Thunder 17-12 at Las Animas.
Justin Lopez sparked the Thunder offense with a home run, double and single.
Luna Bail Bonds Assassins moved to 10-0 by defeating the Titans 23-6. Luis Bobadilla and Rudy Maquinalez Jr. each powered a three-run home run for the Assassins. Justin Mutschler homered and Clark Paulsen scored twice for the Titans.
Chad Badger drove in six runs with two homers and a double to highlight a 30-3 Baker Pump decision over the Sweepers. Brian Barbaglia had a single and RBI for the Sweepers.
Wednesday Men’s E
Feather Haven turned back Those Guys 20-10 to improve to 7-3 in second place at Christmas Hill.
Eric Keen paced the Feather offense with a home run, double, single and sacrifice fly. Ricardo Rascon and Jake Wischman hit Those Guys home runs.
Danny Melendez tripled and singled in a nine-run seventh inning as the Borrachos defeated the HD Auto Glass Players 19-9. Melendez also hit the game’s only home run. Frank Duran went 3 for 3 for the Players.
Unbeaten All of a Sudden blanked No Soup 4 You 16-0. Eddie Adame poked a three-run triple for the 10-0 club.
Thursday Men’s E
The Stud Muffins upset R&M Transportation 21-14 to leave four teams tied for third place with 3-6 marks at Christmas Hill.
Benito Landeros hit a home run and three singles for the Muffins. Juan Contreras helped the Muffin cause with a home run, double and single. Bryan Rogers paced R&M with a 3 for 3 showing.
The VFW Vets (9-0) turned back Trevino Brothers Construction 18-3 as Greg Lucio plated four runs with a homer, double and single. Ed Lujan and Steve Murnin each notched two hits for Trevino Brothers.
Anritsu remained in second at 6-3 with a 9-7 verdict over VFW Bingo. Roger Hartshorn went 2 for 2 and scored twice for Anritsu. Adam Kirkpatrick hit a Bingo homer.
Women
Corey’s Girls defeated Loca Girls 15-0 to improve to 8-2 at Las Animas.
Kristen Castillo and Laura Vargas each homered as Corey’s remained one game off the pace of 9-1 VFW B-2 Bombers. Alicia Dimas doubled for the Loca Girls.
Ms. BeHavin’ is fourth at 5-5 after a 15-3 decision over the Dirty Diamonds. Kris Madrid stroked a homer, double and single for the winners. Jaymie Hall delivered three hits and scored one Diamond run.
Sunday Co-Rec
Team Rush grabbed a two-game lead in the C Division at Las Animas by defeating the Big Kahunas 9-6.
Tyler Osbourne’s three-run homer with two out in the sixth inning completed a five-run rally for Team Rush (6-1). Brian Lomeli and John DeCarlo hit home runs for the Big Kahunas (3-3-1).
Advanced Wheels moved into a tie for third at 3-3-1 with a 29-6 win over Out 2 Play. Dave Soto hit a pair of Wheels homers. Abel Gutierrez went 3 for 3 for Out 2 Play (4-3).
Monday Co-Rec
IFC-Self Made clinched the B Division’s regular season title with a 19-4 victory over Anritsu at Las Animas.
Jose Gamboa hit for the cycle and Kaylana Mah powered a three-run home run for 8-1 IFC-Self Made. Tommy Muth and Mark Terrill each doubled and singled for Anritsu.
Jimmy Castaneda Jr. and Johnny Bueno each homered and En Tu Cara slipped past the St. Louise 5150’s 10-5. Jesse Ramirez blasted three hits for St. Louise.
