Corey’s Girls moved into first place in the Women’s Fall Softball League standings Wednesday with a 17-4 victory over Kalai Kraze at Christmas Hill Park.
Leslie Miner and Eva Neibel each scored four runs as Corey’s Girls reached 4-1-1 with two weeks left in the regular season. Irene Rivera went 3-for-3, Malina Tarasco 2-for-2 for 4-2 Kalai Kraze.
Pops’ Gals (3-3) turned back Station 55 by a 14-9 count as the winners posted seven runs in the first inning and never trailed.
Laura Klemba produced three singles and Shawna Snakenberg added two singles and scored three runs for the Gals. Barb Lemberger and Stacey Schaeffer each collected two singles for Station 55.
Gilroy VFW Vets needed eight innings to top Franco Imports 8-7 and remain tied for first place in the Men’s Fall DD League Tuesday at Las Animas Park.
Frankie Medina doubled and scored on a Chris Hernandez Sr. single in the eighth to lift VFW Vets to 4-1. Anthony Reddy went 2-for-3 and scored two VFW Vets runs. Franco Imports caused the extra inning with Ray Bustinza singled with two outs in the seventh and scored ahead of a Gilbert Salgado home run.
The Borrachos also reached 4-1 with a 22-1 victory over Prime Exterminators. Don Rose, Matias Franco and Danny Melendez each hit a double and two singles for the Borrachos. Izzy Vasquez hit a run-scoring triple for Prime.
Victory Outreach upset Louie & the Outlaws 22-4 behind a triple, double and single from Abraham Rodriguez. Abel Martinez doubled and scored a run for the Outlaws.
AG Construction is 5-1 atop the Men’s Fall D standings after a 15-4 decision over Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors Wednesday at Las Animas.
Ryan Dequin went 3-for-4 and scored three runs for AG Construction. Rodney Clore homered in a 3-for-4 effort for Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors.
Dirty Vatos remained in second at 4-2 after a 19-11 verdict over Feather Haven. Edgar Polanco went 4-for-5 and scored three runs for the winners. John DeCarlo went 4-for-4, Eric Keen 3-4 for Feather Haven (3-3).
Battle Brothers shocked the Players-HD Auto Glass 14-13 by pushing across seven runs in the seventh inning. Nick Alderete went 4-for-5 for the Battle Brothers. Mike Radcliffe scored three runs for the Players.
