Championship Week opens Sunday.
The Hit Crew won two tie-breaker games Monday at Christmas Hill Park to earn the second-half Men’s C Softball League title.

A three-way tie for first place at 4-2 prompted the two-game series. The Hit Crew opened with a 12-10 decision over IFC-Self Made, then trimmed Maniosos 8-7. The Hit Crew will face the Dirty Dozen in the best 2-of-3 Championship Series beginning Monday July 12 at 6:30p.m. at Christmas Hill Park.

IFC-Self Made struck for five runs in the top of the first inning against the Hit Crew, keyed by a two-run single from Ruben Chavez. Jake Maslanka’s two-run single helped the Crew respond with six runs in the first inning. After Greg Lucio Sr.’s two-run single sparked IFC-Self made to an 8-6 lead in the fourth, Dustin Hyer’s home run propelled the Crew to an 11-8 edge in the fourth.

Marc Vegas drove in three runs with two singles to highlight the Crew win over Maniosos. Felipe Begines went 3-for-3 for the losers.

The Borrachos claimed the Men’s EE second-half title with a 35-0 blanking of the Good Ole Boys Thursday at Las Animas Park. While the Borrachos finished the half at 5-1, the Regulators dropped a 21-15 decision to VFW Bingo and settled for a tie for second place at 4-2 with VFW Bingo and the Claddagh Brew Crew.

NorCal Regulators secured the Co-Rec B season title with a 15-0 victory over Anritsu Tuesday at Las Animas. NorCal went 5-1 in the second half. The Hustlers slipped to 4-2 with a 7-6 loss to JR’s Crew. Clint Miner and Jolene Carrasco combined doubles in the bottom of the seventh to give JR’s Crew the decision.

Team Hair FX and Willis Construction finished the second half of the Men’s D League with 5-1 marks, setting up Friday night’s tie-breaker at 6:30 p.m. at Las Animas Park. The winner will face first-half champion Fun Party Supply starting Monday at Las Animas at 6:30 p.m.

Joel Torres hit a triple and two singles to key a 12-5 Team Hair FX win over Los Guapos-EMC. Steve Aguirre homered and Cesar Vasquez and Jesus Begines each collected three hits for Los Guapos-EMC.

Willis Construction scored 10 runs in the top of the seventh inning to lock up a 20-9 win over Humboldt Brewing. Pat Goodman tripled and doubled in the Willis seventh. Trevor Molyneaux went 3-for-4 and scored three Humboldt runs.

Championship Series Week opens Sunday at Las Animas Park. Anritsu and Blackout Window play at 6:30 p.m. in the Co-Rec C series. Rush Order and Here We Go Quickly begin the Co-Rec D series at 7:40.
