GILROY—HD Auto Glass Players scored five runs in the seventh inning to trim Cold Pop 15-12 in Wednesday Men’s E Softball League action at Christmas Hill Park.
Trailing 11-10 through six, Jake Moreno ignited the one-out comeback with a single. Danny Granados provided a two-run triple, scoring on a Johnny Burns Jr. single to cap the scoring for the 5-1 Players.
Reggie Stanley powered a home run and double for Cold Pop. Jeff Peterson and Zach Stanley each accounted for three Cold Pop hits.
Bang a Pitch shook off a 5-2 deficit after six innings and scored 11 runs in the seventh for a 13-5 nod over Feather Haven (4-2). Josh Garcia and Adrian Medina each clubbed two singles in the explosion. Mike Rojas hit a three-run home run. Aaron Parker tripled and singled for Feather Haven.
Thursday E
R&M Transportation (4-1) overcame an 8-7 deficit after five innings to defeat Trevino Brothers Construction 14-9 at Christmas Hill.
Singles by Matt Corona, Mark Guajardo and Ed Lujan gave Trevino Brothers an 8-7 lead in the fifth. R&M fashioned three unearned runs in the sixth, then added four in the seventh, keyed by a Josh Dias double. Clay Eslick homered for the winners. Rob Silvia provided a double and two singles for Trevino Brothers.
Golden State Bail Bonds moved to 5-0 with a 16-9 decision over No Soup 4 You. Abel Pasillas Jr. collected four hits for the Bondsmen. Ralph Ortez came up with four hits, Sam Juarez three for No Soup.
Ryan Evanger’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh lifted Sons of Pitches past Anritsu 7-6. Ruben Sanchez and Ponch Flores each went 2 for 2 for Sons of Pitches.
Thursday EE
Claddagh improved to 5-0 at Las Animas Park with an 18-14 victory over VFW Bingo.
Cole Campbell hit two home runs and scored four runs for Claddagh. Marcos Lopez and Julio Zavala each hit home runs for VFW Bingo.
Scott Mead went 4 for 5 and George Palacios homered as the Assassins (4-1) stopped NEW Hope Community Church 25-13. Clark Poulson stroked a home run, double and single for New Hope.
Gilroy Thunder turned back Ninja Sushi 20-9 by striking for seven runs in the first inning. Mike Brantner, Billy Gocke and Justin Martinez each netted four Thunder hits. Cesar Lopez went 4 for 4 and Jarred Reeves scored three runs for Ninja Sushi.
Tuesday DD
Garlic City Computer Network failed to reach a 6-0 mark Tuesday at Las Animas, instead holding off the Bash Brothers twice in the late going to emerge with a 13-13 tie.
The Bash Brothers could not snap an 11-11 tie in the bottom of the seventh, despite loading the bases. After the Computers (5-0-1) posted two runs in the top of the eighth when both Jose Gamboa and Derek Orca singled and scored, the Brothers (2-3-1) responded with two runs. John Gonzales ignited the Brothers rally with a triple. Gilbert Cano’s RBI-single tied the score before a double play ended the contest.
Gamboa took Computer batting honors with a 4 for 4 effort. Gonzales provided five hits, Cano four for the Brothers.
Team Caley improved to 2-4 with a 24-7 nod over the Borrachos.
Five bases on balls helped Team Caley strike for nine runs in the first inning. Tomas Carrillo anchored the Caley offense with three hits. Mario Uribe and Danny Melendez mustered RBI-singles for the Borrachos (2-4).
Women
Pops’ Gals edged past Just 4 Fun 17-16 in the doubleheader opener at Las Animas.
Bria DeLorenzo powered the Pops’ Gals offense with a two-run home run, RBI-double and a single. Shawna Snakenburg and Julie Berggren each drilled three hits for Pops’. Kim Lychek hit a three-run homer in a four-hit showing for the improving Fun unit.
Unladylike reached 6-0 midway through the spring-summer season with a 13-3 victory over Dirty Diamonds.
Patricia Martinez completed a 4 for 4 night with a three-run home run as Unladylike tallied eight runs in the final inning.
Eva Neibel went 4 for 4 and plated two Unladylike runs. Giovana Martin launched a home run and Yolanda Lomas scored two runs for Dirty Diamonds (4-2).
Friday EE
Old City Hall claimed a one-game lead in the pennant race with a 12-8 victory over rival Under Construction at Las Animas.
JR Hernandez went 3 for 3 and Greg Lucio added three hits and scored three runs to lead Old City Hall to a 4-1 record. Rick Trujillo claimed a double and two singles for 3-2 Under Construction.
Gil’s Warriors moved to 2-3 by turning back Humboldt Brewing 11-3. Trailing 3-2 after five innings, the Warriors scored three runs in the sixth and tallied six in the seventh frame. David Espinoza keyed the late-inning rallies with a double and single.
Monday Co-Rec
Last Minute moved to 5-1 atop the five-team league by edging past Advanced Wheels 4-3 at Las Animas.
The Wheels erased a 3-0 deficit with three runs in the top of the sixth, keyed by a Patricia Martinez RBI-triple. Last Minute earned the win in the bottom of the seventh when Graig Martinez scored on a Tyler Osbourne sacrifice fly.
Advanced Wheels triumphed in the doubleheader opener, trimming the Swingers 17-14. Nate Newman homered and KC Adams collected three hits and scored three Wheel runs. Matt Galindo went 5 for 5 and DJ Lujan homered for the 4-2 Swingers.
Jose Gamboa hit two home runs, Richard Chavez and Emmanuel Hernandez one each, to help Exlifestyles (3-3) by State Farm 15-8. Louie Catano and Albert Haro hit Farm homers.
