VFW Bingo rallied past the Lost Boyz 12-11 on Thursday at Christmas Hill Park to earn the second-half Men’s E Softball title.
VFW Bingo will face Anritsu in the championship game this Thursday at 7:40 p.m. at Las Animas Park.
The Lost Boyz and VFW Bingo tied for the second-half title at 5-1, forcing last Thursday’s tie-breaker.
Steve Lemberger provided a single and double as VFW Bingo built a 9-4 lead after three innings. Pete Osuna’s RBI-single helped the Lost Boyz to five runs in the fourth for a 9-9 deadlock.
Bryan Sanchez singled and scored on a Bryce Wilson two-out single in the sixth for a 10-9 Lost Boyz lead.
Eddie DeLeon singled and scored on an Anthony Bravo single in the top of the seventh for a two-run Lost cushion.
After Adam Kirkpatrick opened the Bingo seventh with a single, two outs were recorded.
Juan Zavala kept the rally alive with a single. Both runners scored when a blistering line drive in the left-field gap could not be secured. Julio Zavala followed with the game-winning RBI-single.
Guts & Glory won the second-half Co-Rec D crown at 5-1 on Sunday with an 18-9 nod over No Glove No Love.
Guts & Glory plays Kay’s Kids for the season title Tuesday at 7:40 p.m. at Las Animas.
Karissa Kozacek and Antionette Bowe led the Guts & Glory surge with four hits each. Vicki Velasquez and Derek Orca each collected three No Love hits.
Good, Bad & Ugly turned back Avila’s Market 11-0 on Friday to win the second-half Men’s DD League title. Jeff Smith homered and tripled for the winners.
