Rep Lofgren welcomes Pastor Mark Turner to Deliver Opening Prayer in Congress

Rep. Zoe Lofgren welcomes her constituent, Pastor Mark Turner of South Valley Community Church in Gilroy, California, as the guest chaplain delivering the opening prayer in the House of Representatives for Tuesday, May 21, 2013. In his opening prayer, Pastor Turner also offers a prayer for the victims of the tornado which devastated the town of Moore, Oklahoma, on Monday, May 20, 2013.
In order of the sequence of event: Speaker John Boehner gavels the House of Representatives into session and introduces Pastor Turner to deliver the opening prayer. Following the opening prayer, Members of Congress recite the Pledge of Allegiance. After the Pledge, Rep. Lofgren delivers remarks on the floor of the House welcoming Pastor Turner.
