Hanna Tabron scored 28 points to lead Christopher’s girls basketball team to a 52-47 victory over San Benito in the championship game of the Watsonville Tournament on Saturday.

Tabron, a senior guard, shot 4-for-7 on 3-pointers and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line on her way to tournament Most Valuable Player honors.

Olivia Tabron added seven points for Christopher (3-1), which got six points from Teresa Guerra and five points from Christa Arroyo.

Taylor Fabing scored 11 points for San Benito, which got 10 points from Elizabeth Reikowski and nine points from Cassandra Barraza.

Christopher’s Dejah Raoof and Cydney Caradonna were among players named to the all-tournament team.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Oakwood 63, Summit View 23 – Nate Schilling had 11 points, six assists and four steals to lead the Hawks (7-1) by the Eagles.

Justin Mortensen had 12 points and five rebounds for Oakwood, and John Angulo added 10 points and five assists.

WRESTLING

Gilroy High took second place in the Chukchansi Invitational at Madera South with 229.5 points, second only to Bakersfield’s 280.5.

The Mustangs got individual titles from Paul Fox (138 pounds) and Nikko Villarreal (145). Gilroy’s Jesse Vasquez (120) and Victor Olmos (132) took second, and Lupe Jimenez (152) and Mark Penyascek (170) placed third.

GIRLS SOCCER

Gilroy 2, Scotts Valley 0 – Taylor Slattery scored in the 25th and 76th minutes to help the Mustangs beat the Falcons.

Morgan Rogers had an assist for Gilroy.

Live Oak 3, Gunn 2 – Alissa Pham scored two goals to lead the Acorns past the visiting Titans.

Macey Dunne also scored for Live Oak.

Capuchino 2, Christopher 0 – The Mustangs scored on a first-half penalty kick and added another goal with about 10 minutes remaining to beat the Cougars.
