Ruben Avila, age 41, died on Aug. 12, 2003, after a brief
illness.

He was born on Feb. 13, 1962, in Gilroy, where he was a lifelong resident.
Ruben worked as a maintenance engineer for many years at local motels.
He is preceded in death by his father Socorro Avila, sister Dolores Delgado and brother Robert Avila.
Ruben is survived by his mother Linda Avila, wife Rachel Avila, son Michael Avila all from Gilroy, and a sister Rosemary Gutierrez of Tracy, along with many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
