Police Blotter: Recent arrests made in Gilroy and Morgan Hill

Antonio Vasquez, 35, of San Martin, 2:37 a.m. Sunday, near Ninth
and Princevalle streets for driving a stolen vehicle, parole hold,
reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia after he ran
a stop sign at 45 mph, ran from police both in his truck and on
foot, jumped a fence and hid in a back yard. Gilroy police found
him with the help of a police dog.
Sheriff’s arrests

Stolen vehicle

Antonio Vasquez, 35, of San Martin, 2:37 a.m. Sunday, near Ninth and Princevalle streets for driving a stolen vehicle, parole hold, reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia after he ran a stop sign at 45 mph, ran from police both in his truck and on foot, jumped a fence and hid in a back yard. Gilroy police found him with the help of a police dog.

Out of state warrant

Jeff Michael Dexter, 40, of Blackford, Idaho, 12:59 p.m. Friday, on the 900 block of White Cloud Drive in Morgan Hill.

Unlicensed driving

David Leonel Murguia Garcia, 27, of San Jose, 8:15 a.m. May 19, near Welburn Avenue and Hanna Street for driving without a license, registration fraud and driving without insurance.

Under the influence of a controlled substance

Roberta Sanchez Sambrano, 44, of Gilroy, 3:20 a.m. May 17, near Lewis Street and Rogers Lane for being under the influence and failing to register for a narcotics conviction.

Other sheriff’s incidents

Identity theft

Someone used a Gilroy woman’s personal information to attempt to open a Capitol One credit card account, between 9 p.m. May 14 and 5 p.m. May 15.

A Gilroy woman’s credit card account information and a forged check were used to make $2,000 in unauthorized charges, between 12 p.m. April 27 and 12 p.m. May 16.

A Morgan Hill woman’s name and Social Security number were used to obtain work in 2008.

Vandalism

Graffiti was spray painted on a fence on the 1900 block of Alpet Drive in Morgan Hill, between 11 p.m. May 19 and 5 p.m. Thursday.

Graffiti was spray painted on a property on the 100 block of Santa Clara Avenue, causing less than $400 in damage, between 2:10 and 2:22 a.m. May 19.

Stolen vehicle

A black 2007 utility trailer was stolen from the 10000 block of Foothill Avenue in San Martin, between 11 p.m. May 17 and 9 a.m. May 18.

Vehicle burglary

The driver’s side window of a 2009 red Ford Flex parked at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., was broken and an iPod and wireless headphones were stolen from inside, between 4 and 5 p.m. May 17.

Burglary

Electronic equipment, jewelry and other property worth $1,455 were stolen from a locked bedroom on the 4000 block of Cañada Road, between 12 a.m. May 7 and 12:15 a.m. May 17.
