Under the influence of a controlled substance

Rafael Aparicio, 31, of Gilroy, 11:16 p.m. Sunday, near Chestnut and 10th streets.

Paul Zabala, 46, of Gilroy, 4:37 p.m. June 22, near Sixth Street and Forest Avenue for possession of methamphetamine and being under the influence.

Misappropriation of lost property

Francisco Castillon, 42, of Gilroy, 6:42 p.m. June 29, near Maple Avenue and Sixth Street for driving a vehicle with stolen license plates.

Possession of a controlled substance

Edwin Guevara, 22, of Gilroy, 5:30 p.m. June 21, on the 1200 block of Pappani Drive for possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license.

Death threats

Mark Ashford, 34, of Gilroy, 8:08 p.m. June 17, near Bloomfield Avenue and Frazier Lake Road for making death threats and parole hold.

DUI

Angel Lopez, 51, of Gilroy, 2:50 a.m. June 29, near Monterey Street and IOOF Avenue.

Elder fraud

Yvette Gamboa, 25, of Morgan Hill, 2:15 p.m. July 7, at 80 Highland Ave.

Other sheriff’s incidents

Identity theft

A check was stolen out of a woman’s mailbox on the 700 block of Lepa Court, June 1, and the account information on the check was used to make a $218.20 purchase, between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. June 11.

A Gilroy woman’s credit card information was used to make several purchases at gas stations in the Los Angeles area, between 12 p.m. June 20 and 12 p.m. Thursday.

Vandalism

Rocks were thrown into a backyard on the 12900 block of New Avenue in San Martin, scratching a gray Ford F250 and causing $1,200 in damage, between 2 and 2:20 a.m. June 30.

Petty theft

A white iPold Nano was stolen from the community pool on the 8200 block of Croy Road in Morgan Hill, between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m. Thursday.

Burglary

Recovered stolen property

A Gilroy man’s stolen safe was found with its door forced open and contents removed near Holsclaw and Leavesley roads, 3 p.m. July 1.
