Any animal that foundered was due to improper feeding. Most vets will tell you this. The amount of perchlorate in the ground water is minimal and will not cause any defects.

The horse owner needs to get over herself and accept the blame of her mismanagement of her feeding practices.

I raised many animals and foundered one. A wise vet told me why and how not to repeat my mistake. The perchlorate is not the issue but really the mismanagement of the horse owner. You are the one endangering your animals – not the few chemicals in the groundwater!
