Inaugural tournament to benefit Gilroy High, Gavilan College
football programs.
GILROY – The Jeff Garcia Open Golf Tournament – scheduled for April 3, 2003 at Eagle Ridge Golf Club in Gilroy – has established its sponsorship program for the inaugural event.

The tournament committee – which includes Jeff Garcia’s father Bob Garcia as well as several members of the Filice family – has been meeting once a month to organize the soon-to-be annual golf tournament in the name of Gilroy’s famed quarterback.

Garcia – a garlic capital native and Gilroy High graduate who played collegiately at Gavilan College and San Jose State – was recently selected to his third consecutive Pro Bowl as one of five San Francisco 49er representatives.

The sponsorship program for the Jeff Garcia Open has six different packages for companies to choose from. Companies interested in or would like more information on the following sponsorship programs can contact Katherine Filice at 842-2275.

•Super Bowl MVP – $10,000 donation, includes company name and logo prominently featured on all printed material and named in press releases. The company will receive a free eight-person team entry fee.

In addition, the company name will be intregrated with the Open logo and placed on all tee sponsor signs, even signs and related visual pieces. A beautifully framed hole flag autographed by Jeff Garcia will be presented to the company representatives during the event. There will be special acknowledgment and a full-page ad in the event program as well as the company’s name and logo on the cover.

The company name will appear on a large event banner as well as being embroidered or printed on the tee prize bag. The company can also provide a promotional item for inclusion in the tee bag giveaway. Along with special acknowledgement during the event and auction, the company – which will have VIP reserved event seating – will be included in a thank you ad.

The Super Bowl MVP sponsorship plan is limited to two companies.

• Pro Bowl QB – $5,000 donation, includes the company name and logo featured on all printed material. The company will receive a free four-person team entry fee.

This plan also offers the company a framed hole flag autographed by Jeff Garcia and presented during the event. Special acknowledgement and a half page ad in the event program is inclusive along with the company name and logo on the cover. The company will have the opportunity to provide a promotional item for the bag giveaway.

In addition, there will be a special acknowledgement during the event and auction as well as in a thank you ad. The company representatives will also receive VIP reserved seating.

•Division Champs – $2,500 donation, includes the company name and logo on all printed material. The company will receive a free four-person team entry fee as well as a framed hole flag autographed by Jeff Garcia during the event.

In addition, the company receives a quarter-page ad as well as its name on the program cover. The company can also provide a promotional item for the bag giveaway. They will receive special acknowledgement during the event and auction in addition to the thank you ad.

•Wild Card – $500 donation, includes the company name and logo featured on a full-color hole sponsorship sign at a tee box or green,

The company will also receive a framed hole flag autographed by Jeff Garcia and a special acknowledgement in the event program. They will also be allowed to provide a promotional item for the bag giveaway. Special acknowledgements will be given during the event, in the event program and in a thank you ad.

•Starting line-up – $200, includes the company name and logo on a full color cart sponsorship sign on the back of the cart. The company will receive special acknowledgement during the event, in the program and in the thank you ad.

•Rookie card allows a company to donate an item for the auction. The company will receive a public thank you, acknowledgement during the event and a thank you in the event program and than you ad.
