GILROY—The Gilroy Browns junior midget cheer squad went into the Pop Warner Cheer and Dance National Championships confident, but with no expectations. But when the team returned, it had a trophy with it.

There was no questioning which team would take home the top prize at the California Coast Wrestling Classic. 

The Gavilan men's basketball team played its first game in 16 days, but unfortunately wasn't able to come away with the victory.
